'Shades of Blue' to Replace 'The Player' in January on NBC

NBC has started releasing its midseason scheduling plans with a premiere date announcement for Jennifer Lopez's new drama, Shades of Blue. The show is set to have a two-hour premiere on Thursday, January 14 at 9/8c, and then move to its regular timeslot (Thursdays at 10/9c) the following week.

NBC has an NFL Wildcard Game and the 2016 Golden Globe Awards showing the weekend before Shades of Blue premieres, and the network has stated that they will be using these two highly-rated events for a huge promotional push for the show.

What do you think of NBC's decision to put Shades of Blue in one of its longtime death slots with the slowly-fading The Blacklist as a lead-in? Tell me in the comments below!
