Sunday TV Ratings 7/30/23: The $100,000 Pyramid and Celebrity Family Feud Rise Slightly in Time Slot Moves, Tough As Nails Sees Finale Bump, The Chosen Declines Again (UPDATED)

Ratings Analysis: With 'The Prank Panel' now on Thursdays, 'Celebrity Family Feud' (0.37, +0.03) was able to reclaim the 8 p.m. time slot. The ABC game show grew by three-hundredths and built on the repeat of 'America's Funniest Home Videos' (0.33) that led into it. 'The $100,000 Pyramid' (0.31, +0.02) was also bumped up an hour and inched up to its highest rating of the season. A rerun of 'Pyramid' (0.26) occupied the 10 p.m. time slot. On CBS, 'Tough As Nails' (0.22, +0.02) grew by two-hundredths for its finale but still lost a noticeable chunk of its '60 Minutes' lead-in (0.34). Repeats of 'The Equalizer' (0.15) and 'NCIS: Los Angeles' (0.13) were at atypical levels. On the CW, 'The Chosen' (0.04, -0.01) shed a hundredth and led into encores of 'World's Funniest Animals' (0.03/0.04). Fox's 'HouseBroken' (0.09, +0.02; 0.09, +0.03) was on the rise but still fell behind reruns of 'The Simpsons' (0.12) and 'Family Guy' (0.13). 'Gordon Ramsay's Food Stars' (0.05) tied its week-ago encore. NBC had more reruns of 'American Ninja Warrior' (0.18) and 'America's Got Talent' (0.22).

Saturday TV Ratings 7/29/23: Solid UFC 291 Prelims Take Second to Rising MLB, Greatest Geek Year Ever Steady for Finale (UPDATED)

Ratings Analysis: 'MLB: Regional Coverage' (0.48, +0.17) enjoyed a pretty healthy surge on Fox and predictably topped the night. ABC's broadcast of 'UFC 291: Prelims' (0.34) came surprisingly close to 'MLB' but settled for a second-place finish in the Adults 18-49 demographic. 'UFC' led into a meager rerun of 'The Prank Panel' (0.09). On NBC, 'Baking It' (0.12, 0.00) held steady and led into another encore of 'America's Got Talent' (0.13). CBS reran 'NCIS' (0.09) and '48 Hours' (0.11/0.14). 'Greatest Geek Year Ever: 1982' (0.04, 0.00) was stable on finale night but lost to the repeats of 'Whose Line Is It Anyway?' (0.05/0.05) that followed

On the CW, 'Family Law' (0.05, -0.02) and 'Moonshine' (0.03, -0.02) were both on the decline. CBS's 'Tough as Nails' (0.20, +0.02) inched up from Sunday's episode and was followed by repeats of 'Fire Country' (0.12) and 'Blue Bloods' (0.14). Encores of 'Will Trent' (0.16) and '20/20' (0.17) were lower than last week on ABC. NBC's 'Dateline' encore (0.18) dropped by three-hundredths, but the 'Hot Wheels: Ultimate Challenge' rerun (0.16) remained unchanged.

Finals Update: The repeat of 'Will Trent' (+0.1) adjusted up. 'Moonshine' (-0.1) adjusted down.

Thursday TV Ratings 7/27/23: The Prank Panel Slips in Thursday Move, Generation Gap Also Down, Children Ruin Everything Repeats Match Original Airings (UPDATED)

Ratings Analysis: ABC's 'The Prank Panel' (0.31, -0.03) was down by three-hundredths in its move to Thursdays at 9, but the series was fairly close behind its 'Generation Gap' lead-in (0.36, -0.05). At 10, a rerun of 'Shark Tank' (0.19) topped its hour. CBS got decent mileage out of repeats of 'Ghosts' (0.24) and 'The Price Is Right At Night' (0.26), but 'So Help Me Todd' (0.13) fell off a cliff from there. Wednesday TV Ratings 7/26/23: Big Brother 25th Anniversary Special Abysmal, Women’s World Cup Rises from Previous USA Game, The Wonder Years Sets New Low (UPDATED)

Ratings Analysis: The 'Big Brother: 25th Anniversary Celebration' special (0.17) was completely rejected by CBS viewers and dropped significantly from the rerun of '60 Minutes' (0.24) that led into it. In the 10 p.m. hour, the 'CSI Vegas' encore (0.10) was over a full tenth lower than last week. On Fox, the USA v. Netherlands match-up propelled the 'FIFA Women's World Cup' (1.95) to new heights. This number was almost four-tenths higher than Friday's 'USA v. Vietnam' game (1.56). ABC's 'The Wonder Years' (0.17, -0.06) slipped to a new low after taking two weeks off. 'Judge Steve Harvey' (0.25, -0.02) also lost some ground. Reruns of 'Abbott Elementary' (0.15) and 'America's Funniest Home Videos' (0.11) followed the originals. NBC's 'LA Fire & Rescue' (0.22, -0.01) shed a hundredth and led into encores of 'Chicago Fire' (0.14) and 'Chicago PD' (0.18). 'Nancy Drew' (0.03, -0.01) lost a hundredth on the CW, but 'Riverdale' (0.02, +0.01) picked one up after falling to that dreadful 0.01 a week prior.

Finals Update: 'FIFA Women's World Cup 2023: USA v. Netherlands' (+0.5), 'The Wonder Years' (+0.1), and 'Big Brother: 25th Anniversary Celebration' (+0.1) adjusted up. 'FIFA Women's World Cup Live' (-0.2) adjusted down.

Tuesday TV Ratings 7/25/23: Hot Wheels: Ultimate Challenge Steady Despite Weaker America’s Got Talent Clip Show Lead-In, Down to Earth and Fantastic Friends Tick Up (UPDATED)

Ratings Analysis: NBC's 'Hot Wheels: Ultimate Challenge' (0.21, 0.00) managed to stop the bleeding for a week and held even at its series low. However, this rating looks a little better than last week's since it aired after an 'America's Got Talent' clip show (0.42) instead of a new 'AGT'. On the CW, 'Down to Earth with Zac Efron' (0.05, +0.02) and 'Fantastic Friends' (0.04, +0.02) picked up two-hundredths apiece. ABC had solid reruns of 'Celebrity Wheel of Fortune' (0.32) and 'Jeopardy! Masters' (0.22/0.20). CBS had encores of 'FBI' (0.20), 'FBI: International' (0.16), and 'FBI: Most Wanted' (0.14). Fox had repeats of 'Beat Shazam' (0.14) and 'Don't Forget the Lyrics!' (0.17).

Finals Update: All shows held their preliminary ratings.

Monday TV Ratings 7/24/23: Children Ruin Everything and Son of a Critch Off to Decent Starts, The Bachelorette Hits Season High as Claim to Fame Crumbles in Time Slot Shifts (UPDATED)

Ratings Analysis: The CW got into the sitcom game for the first time in a while with the debuts of Canadian imports 'Son of a Critch' (0.04/0.04) and 'Children Ruin Everything' (0.04/0.04). Neither program did remarkably well, but these numbers are passable enough by CW standards. Over on ABC, 'The Bachelorette' (0.46, +0.08) surged to a new season high in its return to the 8 p.m. time slot. But, the swap completely destroyed any momentum that 'Claim to Fame' (0.24, -0.17) had built up this summer. 'Fame' crashed to a new series low in its move back to the 10 p.m. hour, just one week after posting a new series high at 8 o'clock. Fox's 'Stars on Mars' (0.16, -0.02) also slipped to a new low, but 'Crime Scene Kitchen' (0.20, +0.01) gained a hundredth in the 9 p.m. slot. On NBC, 'American Ninja Warrior' (0.33, -0.06) dropped some but avoided falling to a new low. An original episode of 'The Wall' (0.29) and a 'Weakest Link' (0.21) rerun aired at 9 and 10 p.m. respectively. Repeats of 'The Neighborhood' (0.28), 'Bob Hearts Abishola' (0.20), 'NCIS' (0.18), and 'NCIS: Hawai'i' (0.18) aired on CBS.

Finals Update: 'The Bachelorette' (+0.1), 'Stars on Mars' (+0.1), and the repeat of 'The Neighborhood' (+0.1) adjusted up.

Sunday TV Ratings 7/23/23: Tony Bennett/Lady Gaga Concert Encore Very Low, Celebrity Family Feud Ties The Prank Panel, The Chosen Ticks Down (UPDATED)

Ratings Analysis: In response to the passing of Tony Bennett, CBS placed a rebroadcast of 'One Last Time: An Evening with Tony Bennett and Lady Gaga' (0.10) in the 9 p.m. hour. The concert did not attract many eyeballs but did stay a tick above the 10 p.m. encore of 'NCIS: Los Angeles' (0.09). Earlier in the night, '60 Minutes' (0.26, -0.01) and 'Tough as Nails' (0.18, -0.02) both dealt with dips. On ABC, 'The Prank Panel' (0.34, +0.05) jumped to a new series high in the 8 p.m. time slot. Celebrity Family Feud' (0.34, +0.01) grew by a hundredth, while 'The $100,000 Pyramid' posted its third-straight 0.29 rating. Despite the gains at 8 and 9 p.m., the 7 o'clock rerun of 'America's Funniest Home Videos' (0.36) bested all three originals. NBC aired repeats of 'American Ninja Warrior' (0.20) and 'America's Got Talent' (0.24). Fox's 'HouseBroken' (0.07, -0.04; 0.06, -0.03) somehow crashed to even lower levels after taking last week off. Fox also had reruns of 'Food Stars' (0.05), 'The Simpsons' (0.07), and 'Family Guy' (0.09). 'The Chosen' (0.05, -0.01) inched down on the CW and led into encores of 'World's Funniest Animals' (0.04/0.04)

Finals Update: Repeats of 'America's Funniest Home Videos' (+0.1) and '60 Minutes' (+0.1) adjusted up.

Saturday TV Ratings 7/22/23: MLB Wins the Night, Baking It Slips, Greatest Geek Year Ever Rises (UPDATED)

Ratings Analysis: Fox's 'MLB: Regional Coverage' (0.31, -0.08) declined some more but still topped all other offerings. Peacock series 'Baking It' (0.12, -0.01) dipped by a hundredth on NBC and was once more beaten by the 9 p.m. rerun of 'America's Got Talent' (0.17). ABC had a repeat marathon of 'Shark Tank' (0.14/0.16/0.20) that grew in size as the evening progressed. CBS tried their luck with encores of 'NCIS: Hawai'i' (0.11/0.12) and '48 Hours' (0.14). 'Greatest Geek Year Ever' (0.04, +0.01) picked up a hundredth on the CW and was followed by repeats of 'Whose Line Is It Anyway?' (0.04/0.04).

Finals Update: 'MLB: Regional Coverage' (+0.1) and the 9 PM repeat of 'Shark Tank' (+0.1) adjusted up. 'Baking It' (-0.1) and 'Greatest Geek Year Ever: 1982' (-0.1) adjusted down, as did both repeats of 'Whose Line Is It Anyway?' (-0.1 each).

Friday TV Ratings 7/21/23: Women’s World Cup Dominates with USA/Vietnam Game, Tough as Nails Rebounds from Low, Family Law and Moonshine Jump (UPDATED)

Ratings Analysis: Fox continued its Friday-night dominance as the United States faced off against Vietnam in the 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup. The broadcast managed a massive 1.56 rating in the Adults 18-49 demographic and soared past Thursday's 'Nigeria v. Canada' match-up (0.35). On the CW, 'Family Law' (0.07, +0.04) and 'Moonshine' (0.05, +0.03) made some noticeable gains after sinking last week. CBS's 'Tough as Nails' (0.20, +0.06) also rebounded and led into reruns of 'Fire Country' (0.13) and 'Blue Bloods' (0.14). NBC aired repeats of 'Hot Wheels: Ultimate Challenge' (0.16) and 'Dateline' (0.21). ABC was a step above in both time slots with encores of 'Will Trent' (0.18) and '20/20' (0.22).

Finals Update: 'FIFA Women's World Cup 2023: USA v. Vietnam' (+0.5) adjusted up. 'FIFA Women's World Cup Live' (-0.1) adjusted down.

Thursday TV Ratings 7/20/23: The Chase Rises for Finale, Generation Gap Also Rises, Women’s World Cup Off to Decent Start (UPDATED)

Ratings Analysis: ABC's 'The Chase' (0.35, +0.02) grew by two-hundredths for its finale and led into another rerun of 'Press Your Luck' (0.28). Earlier in the night, 'Generation Gap' (0.41, +0.04) staged an even bigger rebound than 'Chase'. Fox's broadcast of the 'FIFA Women's World Cup' (0.35) performed quite well in the 10:30 p.m. time slot. This was especially impressive since the game aired after feeble  reruns of 'Alert: Missing Persons Unit' (0.12) and 'Stars on Mars' (0.11). CBS went with repeats of 'Young Sheldon' (0.23), 'Ghosts' (0.19), 'So Help Me Todd' (0.14), and 'CSI: Vegas' (0.14). NBC had encores of 'Password' (0.21) and 'Law & Order: SVU' (0.16/0.17). The CW had repeat showings of 'Walker' (0.03) and 'Penn & Teller: Fool Us' (0.04).

Finals Update: 'FIFA Women's World Cup: Nigeria v. Canada' (+0.1) adjusted up. Repeats of 'Stars on Mars' (-0.1) and 'Alert' (-0.1) adjusted down.

Ratings Analysis: ABC's broadcast of 'CMA Fest' (0.41) topped the evening in the Adults 18-49 demographic but was down by a tenth from the 2022 edition of the ceremony (0.51). Over on Fox, 'MasterChef' (0.34, -0.05) and 'Food Stars' (0.24, -0.04) crumbled, as did NBC's 'LA Fire & Rescue' (0.23, -0.05). The peacock network's reruns of 'Chicago Fire' (0.15) and 'Chicago PD' (0.16) also fell. CBS aired reruns of 'The Price Is Right At Night' (0.39), 'Let's Make a Deal Primetime' (0.37), and 'CSI: Vegas' (0.21). The 'Price Is Right' encore came very close to beating 'CMA Fest' in the 8 p.m. time slot. On the CW, 'Riverdale' (0.01, -0.05) collapsed to an embarrassing new low, even as 'Nancy Drew' (0.04, +0.01) picked up a hundredth.

Finals Update: The repeat of 'Let's Make a Deal Primetime' (+0.1) adjusted up.

Tuesday TV Ratings 7/18/23: CMA Fest Anniversary Documentary Weak, Down to Earth with Zac Efron and Fantastic Friends Off to Miserable Starts, America’s Got Talent and Beat Shazam Drop (UPDATED)

Ratings Analysis: ABC's broadcast of 'CMA Fest: 50 Years of Fan Fair' (0.20) underwhelmed and fell below the rerun of 'Celebrity Wheel of Fortune' (0.29) that led into it. On NBC, 'America's Got Talent' (0.55, -0.03) and 'Hot Wheels: Ultimate Challenge' (0.21, -0.04) dropped to new season lows. Fox's 'Beat Shazam' (0.18, -0.05) and 'Don't Forget the Lyrics!' (0.21, -0.02) slipped after taking a month off. 'Down to Earth with Zac Efron' (0.03) and 'Fantastic Friends' (0.02) completely bombed on The CW for their respective debuts. Finals Update: The repeat of 'Celebrity Wheel of Fortune' (+0.1) adjusted up.

Sunday TV Ratings 7/16/23: The Chosen Off to Decent Start on The CW, Celebrity Family Feud and Tough as Nails Slide to New Lows, CONCACAF Gold Cup Solid on Fox (UPDATED)

Ratings Analysis: 'The Prank Panel' (0.29, -0.02) and 'Celebrity Family Feud' (0.33, -0.05) both slipped to new lows on ABC, despite already having soft starts last week. In the 10 p.m. time slot, 'The $100,000 Pyramid' (0.29, 0.00) held flat but still fell short of the 7 o'clock rerun of 'America's Funniest Home Videos' (0.33). CBS's 'Tough as Nails' (0.14, -0.05) also crashed to a new low and lost almost 50% of its '60 Minutes' lead-in (0.27). The 9 p.m. rerun of 'The Equalizer' (0.16) grew from 'Nails', but the 10 p.m. repeat of 'NCIS: Los Angeles' (0.13) slipped from there. On Fox, the 2023 'CONCACAF Gold Cup' (0.37) led the network to a rare, Sunday-night victory in the Adults 18-49 demographic. NBC went with repeats of 'American Ninja Warrior' (0.14) and 'America's Got Talent' (0.19). 'The Chosen' (0.06) had a perfectly fine start by CW standards and led into an encore of 'World's Funniest Animals' (0.02).

Finals Update: '2023 CONCACAF Gold Cup: Mexico v. Panama' (+0.2) adjusted up. 'CONCACAF Gold Cup Match Day' (-0.1) adjusted down.

Saturday TV Ratings 7/15/23: Baking It Weak in NBC Debut, MLB Leads, WNBA All-Star Game Struggles (UPDATED)

Ratings Analysis: Though the trend of bringing streaming offerings onto prime-time television is going to become increasingly common during the strike, it is unlikely to pay off in terms of Nielsens. NBC tried to transition Peacock series 'Baking It' (0.13) from streaming to broadcast, but the program ultimately debuted in meager fashion. This was made evident an hour later when the 9 p.m. 'America's Got Talent' encore (0.18) bested 'Baking' by a noticeable amount. Fox's 'MLB: Regional Coverage' (0.39, -0.05) dropped by five-hundredths but easily topped all competing programs. On ABC, the 2023 'WNBA All-Star Game' (0.16) posted a lackluster rating, as did the 8 p.m. 'WBNA Countdown' (0.13). The 10 p.m. 'Post-Game' (0.17) improved slightly, but it was not enough to make a difference. On the CW, 'Greatest Geek Year Ever: 1982' (0.03, -0.01) dipped by a hundredth and led into reruns of 'Whose Line Is It Anyway?' (0.05/0.06). CBS aired repeats of 'NCIS: Hawai'i' (0.10) and '48 Hours' (0.12/0.15).

Finals Update: 'MLB: Regional Coverage' (+0.1) and the 2023 'WNBA All-Star Game' (+0.1) adjusted up. 'Baking It' (-0.1) adjusted down.

Friday TV Ratings 7/14/23: WWE SmackDown Remains Dominant Despite Dropping, Tough as Nails Loses to Will Trent Repeat, Family Law and Moonshine Weaken in Week Two (UPDATED)

Ratings Analysis: Fox staple 'WWE Smackdown' (0.62, -0.14) came back down to earth after last week's surge but was still the highest-rated program of the evening by far. On the CW, 'Family Law' (0.03, -0.04) and 'Moonshine' (0.02, -0.02) completely fell off a cliff after debuting with some semi-decent numbers on premiere night. CBS's 'Tough as Nails' (0.19) was four-hundredths lower than last Friday and lost out to a repeat of ABC's 'Will Trent' (0.21) head-on. ABC followed 'Trent' with a '20/20' rerun (0.18), while CBS went with encores of 'Fire Country' (0.17) and 'Blue Bloods' (0.19). NBC aired more repeats of 'Hot Wheels: Ultimate Challenge' (0.14) and 'Dateline' (0.24).

Finals Update: 'WWE SmackDown' (+0.1) and the repeat of 'Fire Country' (+0.1) adjusted up.

Thursday TV Ratings 7/13/23: The Blacklist Slightly Up in Two-Hour Series Finale, Generation Gap and The Chase Slip (UPDATED)

Ratings Analysis: A 10-season run came to an end on NBC as 'The Blacklist' (0.26, +0.06/0.22, -0.04) aired its two-hour series finale. Though the long-running drama did jump to a new season high at 8, it dropped by four-hundredths for the 9 p.m. episode. Considering this is a show that aired for nearly a decade, it clearly went out with a whimper. The peacock network aired a 'Magnum PI' rerun (0.14) in the 10 p.m. time slot. Over on ABC, game shows 'Generation Gap' (0.37, -0.07) and 'The Chase' (0.33, -0.04) dealt with sizable blows. Despite the declines, the 10 p.m. encore of 'Press Your Luck' (0.30) was even with its week-ago showing. Reruns of 'Young Sheldon' (0.28), 'Ghosts' (0.24), 'So Help Me Todd' (0.19), and 'CSI: Vegas' (0.14) were mostly up on CBS. Repeats of 'Alert: Missing Persons Unit' (0.11) and 'Stars on Mars' (0.09) completely underwhelmed on Fox. The CW had repeat showings of 'Walker' (0.03) and 'Penn & Teller: Fool Us' (0.05).

Finals Update: 'The Blacklist' at 8 PM (+0.1) adjusted up.

Wednesday TV Ratings 7/12/23: The ESPYS Slip from 2022, MasterChef Drops After Break, LA Fire & Rescue Rises (UPDATED)

Ratings Analysis: ABC's broadcast of the 2023 'ESPY Awards' managed a 0.41 rating in the Adults 18-49 demographic and was the highest-rated program of the evening. This was just a single hundredth lower than last year's ceremony (0.42). Fox's 'MasterChef' (0.39, -0.03) dropped by three-hundredths in its return but came within striking distance of the 'ESPYS'. 'Gordon Ramsay's Food Stars' (0.28, +0.01) picked up a hundredth in the 9 p.m. time slot. On NBC, 'LA Fire & Rescue' (0.28, +0.05) bounced back rather nicely and led into reruns of 'Chicago Fire' (0.17) and 'Chicago PD' (0.18). CBS had encores of 'The Price Is Right at Night' (0.38/0.35) and 'CSI: Vegas' (0.19). 'Nancy Drew' (0.03, -0.03) slipped on the CW and led into a 'Riverdale' repeat (0.04) that outpaced it.

Finals Update: 'Gordon Ramsay's Food Stars' (+0.1) adjusted up.

Tuesday TV Ratings 7/11/23: MLB All-Star Game Slightly Up from 2022, America’s Got Talent Drops After Week Off (UPDATED)

Ratings Analysis: The 2023 'MLB All-Star Game' posted a monstrous 1.61 rating in the Adults 18-49 demographic on Fox and went a few ticks above last year's game (1.55). Though there was a small dip in total viewership from the 2022 edition (7.01 million vs. 7.51), this was still the highest-rated and most-viewed telecast of the night by far. On NBC, 'America's Got Talent' (0.58, -0.07) slipped to a new season low after taking a week off. 'Hot Wheels: Ultimate Challenge' (0.25, 0.00) held steady in the 10 p.m. hour. ABC had more reruns of 'Celebrity Wheel of Fortune' (0.29), 'Celebrity Jeopardy!' (0.29), and 'Shark Tank' (0.27). CBS aired encores of 'FBI' (0.22), 'FBI: International' (0.18), and 'FBI: Most Wanted' (0.21). The CW went with repeats of 'Greatest Geek Year Ever' (0.04) and 'Whose Line Is It Anyway?' (0.03/0.03).

Finals Update: The 2023 'MLB All-Star Game' (+0.3) adjusted up.

Monday TV Ratings 7/10/23: The Bachelorette and Claim to Fame Rebound, The Price Is Right Encore Leads, The Wall and American Ninja Warrior Drop (UPDATED)

Ratings Analysis: 'Claim to Fame' (0.34, +0.05) and 'The Bachelorette' (0.36, +0.09) both bounced back on ABC, with the latter reaching a new season high. This marks the first time this season that 'Bachelorette' has outrated 'Fame'. Despite those gains, CBS's repeat of 'The Price Is Right' (0.37) beat the alphabet network's offerings and was the top broadcast of the night. Encores of 'The Neighborhood' (0.23), 'Bob Hearts Abishola' (0.16), and 'NCIS' (0.16) filled out the remainder of their evening. NBC was in complete freefall mode as 'American Ninja Warrior' (0.29, -0.06), 'The Wall' (0.26, -0.06), and 'Weakest Link' (0.24, -0.08) all plummeted. Fox's 'Stars on Mars' (0.21, +0.03) rebounded, but 'Crime Scene Kitchen' (0.20, -0.01) inched down. Repeats of 'The Rising' (0.02) and 'Nancy Drew' (0.02) were on-par with last week on The CW.

Finals Update: 'The Bachelorette' (+0.1), 'The Wall' (+0.1), and the repeat of 'The Price Is Right: Bob Barker Studio Goodbye' (+0.1) adjusted up.

Sunday TV Ratings 7/9/23: Celebrity Family Feud and The $100,000 Pyramid Premiere Near Lows, The Prank Panel Struggles, HouseBroken Returns Even Lower (UPDATED)

Ratings Analysis: The Sunday game show lineup was back in action on ABC, but the results were not particularly encouraging. 'The Prank Panel' (0.31) took over the 8 p.m. time slot and ended up declining from the rerun of 'America's Funniest Home Videos' (0.38) that held down the 7 o'clock hour. To its credit, this rating was a hundredth higher than its May preview (0.30), but it was clearly lower than what 'Celebrity Family Feud' would post in this slot in the past. 'Feud' itself (0.38) got off to a shaky start in its new, 9 p.m. time slot. This rating went below every episode from summer 2022 and serves as a new series low for the program. At 10, 'The $100,000 Pyramid' (0.29) narrowly avoided new-low territory but fell behind the vast majority of its summer '22 installments.

On Fox, animated sitcom 'HouseBroken' (0.11/0.09) returned for another round of episodes after being off the air for over a month. The series tied its previous low at 9:30 and was preceded by reruns of 'Gordon Ramsay's Food Stars' (0.11), 'The Simpsons' (0.13), and 'Family Guy' (0.10). On CBS, 'Tough As Nails' (0.18) shed a hundredth from last Sunday's premiere, even as '60 Minutes' (0.36, +0.08) shot up. Repeats of 'The Equalizer' (0.13) and 'NCIS: Los Angeles' (0.12) occupied the slots they often do. On NBC, the '2023 Women's U.S. Open Golf Championship' (0.17) improved a bit from Saturday's telecast (0.11) and led into another 'America's Got Talent' rerun (0.16). The CW had encores of 'Gotham Knights' (0.04) and 'Superman & Lois' (0.04). Both grew by a hundredth when compared to last week.

Finals Update: 'Celebrity Family Feud' (+0.1) adjusted up, as did repeats of 'America's Funniest Home Videos' (+0.1), '60 Minutes' (+0.1), and 'America's Got Talent' (+0.1).

Saturday TV Ratings 7/8/23: Greatest Geek Year Ever Has OK Start, MLB Leads Again, Women’s US Open Golf Low (UPDATED)

Ratings Analysis: The series premiere of 'Greatest Geek Year Ever' (0.04) was passable by The CW's standards and could only tie last week's reruns of 'Masters of Illusion' (0.04/0.04). Repeats of 'Whose Line Is It Anyway?' (0.03/0.03) occupied the 9 o'clock hour. On the Fox network, 'MLB Regional Coverage' (0.44, +0.06) grew some more and topped the night as it normally does. ABC's broadcast of 'UFC 290' (0.33) settled for a strong, second-place finish in the Adults 18-49 demographic. At 10, a rerun of 'The Prank Panel' (0.11) only retained a third of the 'UFC' rating. NBC's showing of the '2023 Women's US Open Golf Championship' (0.11) was incredibly meager and lost out to the encore of 'America's Got Talent' (0.12) that followed it. CBS aired repeats of 'NCIS' (0.11) and '48 Hours' (0.14/0.16).

Finals Update: 'MLB: Regional Coverage' (+0.1), 'UFC 290' (+0.1), and the 10 PM repeat of '48 Hours' (+0.1) adjusted up.

Friday TV Ratings 7/7/23: Moonshine Has OK Start by CW Standards as Family Law Nears Series High, WWE SmackDown Rises, Tough as Nails Ticks Up (UPDATED)

Ratings Analysis: 'Family Law' (0.07) had a strong return on The CW and was only two-hundredths below its series high. At 9, 'Moonshine' (0.04) had a passable launch by the network's standards. Fox's 'WWE Smackdown' (0.76, +0.07) climbed some more and posted a rating that was 230% higher than the program in second place. CBS's 'Tough as Nails' (0.23, +0.04) grew a bit from its meager, Sunday-night premiere (0.19). Reruns of 'Fire Country' (0.14) and 'Blue Bloods' (0.15) followed 'Nails'. NBC aired repeats of 'Hot Wheels: Ultimate Challenge' (0.18) and 'Dateline' (0.23). ABC beat out NBC in the 8 p.m. time slot with a rerun of 'Will Trent' (0.20), but they lost out to the peacock network at 9 since their encore of '20/20' (0.19) trailed 'Dateline'.

Finals Update: 'WWE SmackDown' (+0.1) adjusted up.

Thursday TV Ratings 7/6/23: The Chase and Generation Gap Rise, The Blacklist Declines (UPDATED)

Ratings Analysis: 'Generation Gap' (0.44, +0.09) and 'The Chase' (0.37, +0.07) both soared past their week-ago premieres on ABC, with 'Gap' registering as the top-rated program of the evening. In the 10 p.m. hour, a rerun of 'Press Your Luck' (0.30) also improved when compared to last week. NBC's 'The Blacklist' (0.20, -0.05) took a hit and barely beat out the 9 p.m. repeat of 'Law & Order: SVU' (0.19). The 10 o'clock encore of 'Magnum PI' (0.15) was up by two-hundredths from the June 29th one. Reruns of 'Young Sheldon' (0.25) and 'Ghosts' (0.18) declined on CBS, while encores of 'So Help Me Todd' (0.16) and 'CSI: Vegas' (0.14) were flat. Fox had another round of reruns in the form of 'Alert: Missing Persons Unit' (0.13) and 'Stars on Mars' (0.11). 'Walker' (0.03) and 'Penn & Teller: Fool Us' (0.03) were in repeat-mode on The CW.

Finals Update: 'The Chase' (+0.1) and the repeat of 'So Help Me Todd' (+0.1) adjusted up.

Wednesday TV Ratings 7/5/23: Mission: Impossible Special OK, LA Fire & Rescue Drops Again, The Wonder Years Ticks Up (UPDATED)

Ratings Analysis: Though 'Judge Steve Harvey' (0.27, 0.00) held even with last week, 'The Wonder Years' (0.23, +0.02) grew by two-hundredths on ABC. But, despite its best efforts, the sophomore sitcom was beaten head-on by a rerun of 'Young Sheldon' (0.27). 'Sheldon' had ample lead-in support from a strong repeat of 'The Price Is Right At Night' (0.42) and led into a middling 'Mission: Impossible' special (0.22). A rerun of 'CSI: Vegas' (0.16) closed out CBS's night but lost out to ABC's encore of 'The $100,000 Pyramid' (0.20). The 'Pyramid' encore built significantly on the rerun of 'Abbott Elementary' (0.15) that led into it. On NBC, 'LA Fire & Rescue' (0.23, -0.02) slipped some more and was followed by repeats of 'Chicago Fire' (0.15) and 'Chicago PD' (0.21). 'MasterChef' (0.22) and 'Gordon Ramsay's Food Stars' (0.18) were both in repeat-mode on Fox. 'Nancy Drew' (0.06, +0.03) and 'Riverdale' (0.06, +0.03) bounced back on the CW.

Finals Update: 'Judge Steve Harvey' (+0.1) and the repeat of 'Young Sheldon' (+0.1) adjusted up.
