S2E4 "Skanks Get Shanked"
In the flash-forward that began the episode, an ambulance showed up to take Annalise. She is still alive, but just barely. Four weeks earlier, Annalise gets a call from Nate's wife. She is not angry with Annalise, she wants Annalise to kill her to end her pain. She can't get that conversation out of her head as she goes home. This week, Annalise must defend a teenage girl who was forced to kill her best friend. That's her story, at least, but I believe her, unlike most of Annalise's clients. The courtroom scene was great, going back and forth between the prosecution and Annalise. Asher hasn't shown up, when Bonnie calls him he pretends to be sick.
Michaela is sent to talk to the brother from the brother and sister case. Meanwhile in court, Annalise isn't focused on the case, but on Nate's wife's request. It was very different than the other times we have seen Annalise in court. Connor talks to the teenage girl, who he believes is innocent, but Laurel believes is guilty. Wes is meeting with Michaela's boyfriend/Rebecca's brother as they try to find out who killed Rebecca, but the two are not getting along that well. Laurel steals the teenage girl's phone, and discovers that she is guilty through a very disturbing video where the girls joke about killing. It turns out I was wrong about her.
Annalise must delete the video that Laurel discovered, but it ends up in court presented by the prosecution. Nate shows up at the courthouse and talks to Annalise, but Annalise promised Nate's wife not to tell him that she wants to die. Annalise keeps re-watching a portion of the video, where the teenage girl repeats the other one. The case starts to go well, until the teenage girl explodes and starts shouting in court that she was going to kill the girl testifying next. Connor and Annalise get into an argument, because he gave the video to the prosecution. Michaela discovers that the sister in the brother and sister case is a virgin, which helps the case.
Annalise is still debating over whether or not she should give Nate's wife the pills. Annalise told Nate's wife that she has thought about killing herself, but hasn't done it, so she shouldn't either, because she is a better person than Annalise. That logic seems really flawed to me. Bonnie finds Asher and tells him that she killed Sam. Annalise sees Nate and Wes talking. In the flash-forward at the end, Michaela has to do something, which it turns out involves the brother from the brother and sister case (I'm really going to need to learn their names, but there are so many names). Where in the world is this heading?
This was a really good episode that had some great moments, especially with the wonderful Viola Davis.
