Charmed, Riverdale, Legacies & More Renewed by The CW

The CW has issued a mass renewal, ordering additional seasons of ten of its series. Among these renewals are new series Charmed and Legacies. Also returning are veterans Arrow, Black Lightning, Riverdale, Legends of Tomorrow, Supergirl, The Flash, Supernatural, and Dynasty. None of these renewals come as much of a surprise, with most being solid performers for the network and the lower-rated shows such as Dynasty having big Netflix deals. These were all correct predictions for The TV Ratings Guide. This leaves newbies All American and Roswell, New Mexico on the bubble. All American has been a lower-tier performer for The CW, while Roswell has been a decent player that posts only mediocre retention from The Flash. Yet to premiere are veteran The 100 and newbie In the Dark.

What do you think of these renewals? What show are you most excited to see renewed? Let us know in the comments below?

Shameless Renewed for Tenth Season

Showtime's longest-running series will return for at least one more season. Shameless has scored a tenth season, which will be the first that won't feature star Emmy Rossum. William H. Macy will return for the tenth season, as will Emma Kenney, Cameron, Monaghan, and the rest of the main cast members from season 9. The series is currently averaging a 0.35 for the season, marking a 35% decline from season 8. Despite the decline, the series remains the top show on Showtime. It returned for the 7-episode second half of season 9 on January 20, and will run until March 10.

What do you think of this news? Will you be tuning in for the Emmy Rossum-less season 10? Let us know in the comments below!

Fuller House Ending With Season 5

One of Netflix's most popular original comedies is coming to an end. The streaming giant has renewed Fuller House for a fifth and final season, set to air later this year. Fuller House premiered in 2016, airing 57 episodes since then over its four seasons. An episode count for the sendoff season has not been announced, though 13 episode season orders have the most common (only season 3 lasted longer). The series is a revival/spin-off of the iconic 1980s-90s ABC series Full House, and features Candace Cameron Bure, Jodie Sweetin, and Andrea Barber in starring roles, with original series stars John Stamos, Bob Saget and Dave Coulier all featured in recurring roles.

What do you think of this news? Will you miss Fuller House after it says farewell later this year? Let us know in the comments below!

Writer’s Block - Episode 1.05 - New Writing Partners

Writer’s Block
1x05 - “New Writing Partners”

By: Jessica Boggs

FADE IN:
INT. APARTMENT LIVING ROOM - DAY
JACK sits on the couch. He is nervous.

JACK (V.O.)
I had a great chat with Jill over our writing ideas last night. I guess you can say we are now writing partners. But I cannot bring myself to tell Noah.

Jack shrugs. He walks into the kitchen door.

CUT TO:

INT. APARTMENT KITCHEN - CONTINUOUS
He opens it and goes to the refrigerator. He grabs a green onion, some peppers, and places them on a cutting board laid out on the counter. He chops the onion and the peppers.

Tears stream out of Jack’s face as he is cutting them and placing them into a bowl.

He then washes his hands vigorously. The phone rings. Jack dries his hands in a hurried motion and answers it. It is Jill calling. They have a conversation.

JACK
(on the phone)
Actually I haven’t talked to Noah yet. Oh, really? What is he going to say to me now that I went behind his back?

CUT TO:
EXT. COFFEE SHOP - DAY
NOAH is reading the local news on his tablet, sitting at a table outside the local coffee shop in Beverly Hills. All of a sudden, a young and charismatic individual named STEVE (24) sits in the designated table and manages to strike a conversation with Noah.

STEVE
I see you must be Noah.

Noah is taken by surprise.

NOAH
How did you know my name?

STEVE
I just wanted to say hi and welcome you to the neighborhood.

Noah faces Steve.

NOAH
So, you write for a living, huh?

STEVE
Of course.

NOAH
I do too. Nothing beats the logical symphony of having a finished product.

STEVE
It’s even better when there is someone to write with you.

NOAH
(stunned)
So, you are looking for a writing partner?

STEVE
Of course.

NOAH
Position accepted.

Steve and Noah then proceed to discuss their writing ideas for television shows and movies. They then go inside the coffee shop.

CUT TO:
INT. APARTMENT KITCHEN - AN HOUR LATER
The oven rings, signaling that the food is done cooking. Jack then rushes in to get it out of the oven.

Jack gets a fork to test the casserole. He is satisfied with it. Then he places it on the counter to cool off.

The doorbell rings from the living room.

CUT TO:

INT. APARTMENT LIVING ROOM - CONTINUOUS
Jack rushes to the door and opens it. It is JILL, who enters the room.

JILL
I wanted to let you know I have a few ideas.

JACK
Great. Let’s discuss this on the couch.

They sit down. Hands are moving during the conversation. Jack then goes into the kitchen while Jill looks at her phone. Jack then returns with a piece of casserole he cut up for Jill to try.

JILL
(surprised)
Jack, what is this?

JACK
It’s a little something I have cooked into the oven. Some stuffed bell peppers and green onions with some rice.

Jill takes a bite out of the creation.

JILL
Hey, I like this. Do you have a recipe for this?

JACK
I do.

All of a sudden, the door opens to reveal Noah and Steve.

NOAH
Jill?

JILL
Noah? What are you doing back so soon?

NOAH
I wanted to show Steve around. He’s my new writing partner.

JACK
Really?

NOAH
Yep.

JACK
Well, if that’s the case, you have already seen my new writing partner.

NOAH
Jill is your new writing partner? I can’t believe I’m seeing things.

The Masked Singer Renewed by Fox

To the surprise of nobody, Fox has ordered a second season of megahit freshman reality series The Masked Singer. The series has been a cultural phenomenon, and is currently one of the highest-rated series on broadcast. The show is based on the South Korean series King of Mask Singer, one of the few recent adaptations from the country to be a success (along with last year's The Good Doctor). Nick Cannon hosts the series, and the judging panel consists of Ken Jeong, Nicole Scherzinger, Jenny McCarthy, and Robin Thicke. Though the entire cast has yet to be revealed, previous unveiled contestants have included Tommy Chong, Terry Bradshaw and Margaret Cho. This was a correct prediction for the TV Ratings Guide's Reality Renew/Cancel, which marked the series as a certain renewal.

What do you think of this news? Will you be tuning in for the second season of The Masked Singer? Let us know in the comments below!
