The Bullpen Season 5 Episode 8: Field of Dream

Friday TV Ratings 8/19/22: Killer Camp Stays Low in Return, WWE SmackDown and Secret Celebrity Renovation Rise (UPDATED)

Ratings Analysis: The CW's 'Killer Camp' (0.04) returned a hundredth higher than the last time it aired back in October of 2021 (0.03) but was still at the same, meager level as a pair of 'World's Funniest Animals' reruns (0.03/0.04) that followed. CBS's 'Secret Celebrity Renovation' (0.24, +0.06) picked up some steam and managed to beat the repeats of 'Blue Bloods' (0.18/0.21) that it led into, something it rarely does. ABC's encores of 'Shark Tank' (0.33) and '20/20' (0.35) were well above NBC's reruns of 'American Ninja Warrior' (0.22) and 'Dateline' (0.19). Fox program 'WWE Smackdown' (0.47, +0.03) topped the evening in unsurprising fashion, rising by three-hundredths from last week in the process.

Finals Update: 'Killer Camp' (-0.1), 'Secret Celebrity Renovation' (-0.1), and repeats of 'Shark Tank' (-0.1), 'American Ninja Warrior' (-0.1), and 'Dateline NBC' (-0.1) adjusted down.

Thursday TV Ratings 8/18/22: Big Brother Drops for Two-Hour Episode, Press Your Luck Rises (UPDATED)

Ratings Analysis: CBS juggernaut 'Big Brother' (0.71, -0.05) dropped by five-hundredths when compared to last Thursday (0.76) for a special two-hour installment. The reality series led out of reruns of 'Young Sheldon' (0.31) and 'Ghosts' (0.28) that were close to last week's encores. ABC's 'Press Your Luck' (0.51, +0.07) climbed to its second-highest rating of the season, but 'Generation Gap' (0.38, -0.03) widened the gap between itself and 'Luck' by shedding three-hundredths. In the 10PM hour, 'The Con' (0.25, -0.02) also lost a bit of ground. NBC's repeats of 'Law & Order' (0.18) and 'Law & Order: Organized Crime' (0.21) were steady with last week while 'Law & Order: SVU' (0.26) grew by four-hundredths. Fox's encores of 'MasterChef' (0.22) and 'Welcome to Flatch' (0.16/0.14) left much to be desired in the Nielsen department. The CW's dramedy 'Bump' (0.03) dipped from last week's launch (0.06/0.04) and led into a rerun of 'Whose Line Is It Anyway?' (0.03). 'Great Chocolate Showdown' (0.04) was a hundredth shy of its week-ago return (0.05) at 9.

Finals Update: The repeat of 'Ghosts' (+0.1) adjusted up.

Wednesday TV Ratings 8/17/22: Two-Hour MasterChef Ticks Up, The Challenge: USA Steady, Big Brother Hits Season High (UPDATED)

Ratings Analysis: Gordon Ramsay-hosted 'MasterChef' (0.36, +0.01) picked up a hundredth on Fox for a special two-hour installment but could not hold a candle to some of the offerings on CBS or NBC. CBS's 'Big Brother' (0.85, +0.06) climbed to a new season high in the 8PM hour and led into a stable edition of 'The Challenge: USA' (0.42, 0.00). The 10PM rerun of 'SWAT' (0.20) once again placed last in its timeslot. On NBC, 'America's Got Talent' (0.61, +0.07) grew significantly on a week-to-week basis while 'Password' (0.41, -0.02) declined by two-hundredths from Tuesday night's episode (0.43). The peacock network capped off the evening with another encore of 'Chicago PD' (0.23). ABC went with an 'Abbott Elementary' repeat marathon (0.36/0.29/0.29/0.30) that performed noticeably better than last week's mismatch of sitcom encores (0.29/0.18/0.18/0.16). At 10, the rerun of 'Press Your Luck' (0.30) topped its respective hour. 'Mysteries Decoded' (0.06, +0.03) grew by three-hundredths on the CW and was followed by encores of 'Wellington Paranormal' (0.04/0.03).

Finals Update: The 8 PM repeat of 'Abbott Elementary' (+0.1) adjusted up. 'Password' (-0.1) adjusted down.

Tuesday TV Ratings 8/16/22: Leonardo Has Meager Premiere, Password and America’s Got Talent Inch Down, Celebrity Wheel of Fortune Encore Takes Second (UPDATED)

Ratings Analysis: The CW's latest drama 'Leonardo' (0.04) was dead on arrival for its launch and even went below Thursday's abysmal 'Bump' debut (0.06). At 9, 'Devils' (0.03) had no life left in it for its season premiere, going well below the 0.1s it would post in late 2020. Over on NBC, 'America's Got Talent' (0.73, -0.01) was a hundredth shy of its week-ago episode. Game show reboot 'Password' (0.43, -0.03) shed three-hundredths from Wednesday's installment and came in five-hundredths lower than last week's series debut. ABC had a shockingly strong rerun of 'Celebrity Wheel of Fortune' (0.52) that led into encores of 'Generation Gap' (0.37) and 'Celebrity Family Feud' (0.34). CBS's reruns of 'FBI' (0.28), 'FBI: International' (0.26), and 'FBI: Most Wanted' (0.24) trumped Fox's encores of 'So You Think You Can Dance' (0.13) and 'Fantasy Island' (0.12).

Finals Update: Repeats of 'Generation Gap' (+0.1), 'FBI' (+0.1), and 'FBI: International' (+0.1) adjusted up. 'Leonardo' (-0.1) adjusted down.

Ratings Analysis: After sinking to a new series low last week, ABC's 'Claim To Fame' (0.39, +0.05) rose by five-hundredths and tied its season high. Earlier in the night, 'The Bachelorette' (0.76, +0.01) picked up a hundredth and topped the night altogether. On NBC, 'America's Got Talent' (0.39, +0.02) was two-hundredths higher than the week prior and led into yet another 'Weakest Link' rerun (0.25). CBS had respectable repeats of 'The Neighborhood' (0.35) and 'Bob Hearts Abishola' (0.30) that were followed by weaker encores of 'NCIS' (0.26) and 'NCIS: Hawai'i' (0.24). Fox went surprisingly strong reruns of 'Don't Forget the Lyrics!' (0.29) and 'Beat Shazam' (0.34). The 'Shazam' rerun actually bested its week-ago original (0.31). The CW was up across the board with 'Roswell' New Mexico' (0.08, +0.03) and 'In the Dark' (0.06, +0.02).

Sunday TV Ratings 8/14/22: Big Brother Steady, Who Do You Think You Are? Improves for Finale, $100,000 Pyramid Ticks Down (UPDATED)

Ratings Analysis: Leading out of a strong 'AFV' rerun (0.44), ABC game show 'Celebrity Family Feud' (0.57, +0.03) picked up three-hundredths and rose to its strongest rating since the season premiere. 'The $100,000 Pyramid' (0.44, -0.02) lost two-hundredths despite the 'Feud' uptick, but 'The Final Straw' (0.29, 0.00) held flat at last week's rating. CBS's 'Big Brother' (0.81, 0.00) also matched the rating it posted last Sunday. Surrounding repeats of '60 Minutes' (0.42), 'The Equalizer' (0.22), and 'NCIS: LA' (0.23) all gained a few ticks. On NBC, 'Who Do You Think You Are?' (0.19, +0.08) grew quite a bit on finale night but still lost to reruns of 'Password' (0.21) and 'America's Got Talent' (0.20). Fox's encores of 'Beat Shazam' (0.15), 'The Great North' (0.16), 'Bob's Burgers' (0.20), and 'Family Guy' (0.21) all improved on a week-to-week basis. The 8PM repeat of 'The Simpsons' (0.15) was the only one not to rise, instead tying last week's rating. The CW's reruns of 'World's Funniest Animals' (0.05/0.06) and 'Penn & Teller: Fool Us' (0.05) also perked up a bit.

Finals Update: 'Big Brother' (+0.1), 'Who Do You Think You Are?' (+0.1), 'Celebrity Family Feud' (+0.1), and repeats of 'Password' (+0.1) and 'America's Got Talent' (+0.1) adjusted up.

Earlier in the night, the rerun of 'Great Chocolate Showdown' (0.06) beat out the show's Thursday-night premiere (0.05) in the Adults 18-49 demographic. Fox's 'MLB Regional Coverage' (0.38, +0.03) rose by three-hundredths and was the highest-rated broadcast of the evening. ABC had solid repeats of 'AFV' (0.27/0.21) and 'The $100,000 Pyramid' (0.19). NBC had a meager rerun of 'The Wall' (0.13) and a significantly stronger 'Dateline' (0.25). CBS aired lackluster encores of 'NCIS' (0.16), 'NCIS: Hawai'i' (0.13), and '48 Hours' (0.15).

Ratings Analysis: CBS's 'Secret Celebrity Renovation' (0.18, -0.05) dropped by five-hundredths and was beaten out by the reruns of 'Blue Bloods' (0.19/0.24) that followed. Fox wrestling staple 'WWE Smackdown' (0.44, -0.05) also lost five-hundredths but found itself atop the Friday night roster yet again. ABC's '20/20' repeat (0.35) took second place, growing slightly from the 'Shark Tank' encore (0.33) that preceded it. NBC had middling reruns of 'America's Got Talent' (0.26) and 'Dateline' (0.24). The CW's 'Dynasty' (0.02, -0.02) declined by two-hundredths and was bested by the 'Killer Camp' repeat (0.03) that led into it.

Thursday TV Ratings 8/11/22: MLB Has Decent Showing, Big Brother Leads the Night, Bump and Great Chocolate Showdown Have Decent CW Premieres (UPDATED)

Ratings Analysis: Fox's 'Cubs v. Reds' MLB game (0.64) was the second highest-rated broadcast of the evening and topped the 8PM hour. Game shows 'Press Your Luck' (0.44, -0.09) and 'Generation Gap' (0.41, -0.05) suffered sizable blows on ABC, but 'The Con' (0.27, +0.01) inched up at 10. CBS's 'Big Brother' (0.76, +0.03) was three-hundredths higher than the Thursday prior and predictably beat out all other programs. On the repeat front, 'Young Sheldon' (0.31) declined while 'Ghosts' (0.32) and 'CSI: Vegas' (0.22) improved on a week-to-week basis. NBC went with middling encores of 'Law & Order' (0.18), 'SVU' (0.22), and 'Organized Crime' (0.21). On the CW, the series premiere of new dramedy 'Bump' (0.06/0.04) was on-par with what that the network has done all summer. Wednesday TV Ratings 8/10/22: Americas Got Talent Sinks in First Results Show, So You Think You Can Dance Rises for Finale, Big Brother Leads (UPDATED)

Ratings Analysis: NBC mainstay 'America's Got Talent' (0.54) crumbled for its first results show and went a full two-tenths below Tuesday night's performance (0.74). Despite the trouble in 'AGT' land, 'Password' (0.46, -0.02) shed just two-hundredths from Tuesday's premiere and retained a stellar 85% of its lead-in the 18-49 demographic. After this data point, it seems like 'Password' may be a much stronger show than it appeared to be on day one. The 'Chicago PD' rerun (0.25) that followed topped the 10PM hour. On CBS, 'Big Brother' (0.79, 0.00) tied last Wednesday's rating as 'The Challenge: USA' (0.42, +0.04) picked up a few ticks. The 10PM encore of 'SWAT' (0.20) was also a bit higher than usual. Fox's 'MasterChef' (0.35, -0.01) shaved off a hundredth at 8 and placed third in its timeslot. In the 9PM hour, struggling 'So You Think You Can Dance' (0.26, +0.03) grew by three-hundredths for its season finale. The CW's 'Mysteries Decoded' (0.03, 0.00) held even but 'Wellington Paranormal' (0.01, -0.01) lost a precious hundredth. The 'Wellington' original was bested by a repeat of itself (0.02) that aired directly after it. ABC had reruns of 'The Conners' (0.29), 'The Goldbergs' (0.18), 'Abbott Elementary' (0.18), 'Home Economics' (0.16), and 'Press Your Luck' (0.22).

Finals Update: 'Big Brother' (+0.1), 'Password' (+0.1), 'So You Think You Can Dance' (+0.1), and the repeat of 'Home Economics' (+0.1) adjusted up.
