This early episode-trimming of low-rated series tactic is in full gear already this season, as first evidenced by last week's episode cuts for NBC's The Player and ABC's Blood & Oil. Now, per Deadline, NBC has effectively trimmed the original 13-episode order of freshman comedy Truth Be Told to 10 episodes. After the comedy debuted to a toxic 0.7 rating (A18-49 demo) two weeks ago, no one was talking (positively) as NBC had hoped going in. The Mark-Paul Gosselaar/Tone Bell comedy follows in the footsteps of the many failed NBC comedy attempts in recent memory, with only Undateable and The Carmichael Show still breathing at the network for returning series.
