Finally Together Season 1 Episode 9: The House (TVRGO Throwback)
SETTING: JOSH and ANDREW, alone in a room.
ANDREW
What are we going to do?
JOSH
We have to take the house.
ANDREW
Why?
JOSH
Haven't you always wanted to start a family? No way any adoption agency is going to let us have a kid in the tiny apartment we live in now.
ANDREW
I suppose, but what about our jobs?
JOSH
We'll find new ones.
ANDREW
And how do we know that?
JOSH
Look, point is this is the perfect opportunity for us to really make an advancement in our lives. Plus, I'd love for my parents' house to stay in the family.
ANDREW
True. If you're willing then I'm willing, I guess.
SETTING: FRAN and BRIAN, alone in a different room
FRAN
How do you think they took the news?
BRIAN
First off, I'm fairly certain Catherine didn't hear us.
FRAN
How would you know that?
BRIAN
She didn't make some odd comment followed by what's-her-face trying to correct her.
FRAN
Britney 2?
BRIAN
We should really learn our grandkids' names.
FRAN
I'm serious. It's Britney 2. We've been through this before. Anyway, let's just wait and see what they say. Either way, Poland is really calling my name.
SETTING: DAVID and MARY alone, outside
DAVID
That house was supposed to be ours.
MARY
What?
DAVID
I was always Mom's favorite kid growing up.
I was always Mom's favorite kid growing up.
MARY
What do you want me to do about it?
DAVID
Just wait. You know Josh doesn't have the guts to accept the house. Plus, I need to leave my job.
DREW
And be unemployed? Nice try.
DAVID
Where'd you come from??
DREW
I was hanging out by Aunt Catherine and Uncle William. Julian was with me.
MARY
I'm so sorry.
I'm so sorry.
DREW
I'm pretty sure there plan is to just not leave here.
MARY
That's ridiculous, they weren't even offered the house. And why would they want it?
DREW
I don't know but they seem pretty mad.
SETTING: Everyone gathered together in the living room.
JOSH
We've made our decision. Mom, Dad, thanks for offering the house. We can't wait to be able to move in.
We've made our decision. Mom, Dad, thanks for offering the house. We can't wait to be able to move in.
CATHERINE
CRAP!
BRITNEY 2
Not a bad swear? I'm proud of you Mom.
Not a bad swear? I'm proud of you Mom.
WILLIAM
That's it, try to make us leave.
That's it, try to make us leave.
BRIAN
This didn't go over the way we expected did it?
This didn't go over the way we expected did it?
CHRIS
Wait...why did everyone want this house so bad?
FRAN [to BRIAN]
He doesn't know?
BRIAN [to FRAN]
Apparently not.
FRAN
Chris...you see...I have no clue.

Finally Together Season 1 Episode 7: The Good Times (TVRGO Throwback)
SETTING: DINNER TABLE.
DAVID
Great dinner Mom. Tastes the same way it did 20 years ago.
FRAN
Thanks. There are different employees now but it's the same recipe.
JOSH
Agreed, their burgers are so good. Takeout was definitely the right call.
CATHERINE
Remember the first time we actually went there as a family instead of having Mom drive 40 miles to pick them up by herself?
DAVID
Yes! I remember having that amazing hot dog.
JOSH
I'm pretty sure they never had hot dogs.
BRIAN
They definitely didn't. David I'm surprised you remember that and not how you sent your fries back because you asked for them to be medium-rare.
DAVID
I did no such thing, you asked for new fries because you managed to drop all of yours on the ground. And I like my fries medium-well.
CATHERINE
Do none of us agree on what happened there? I thought it was a pretty memorable day, what with Mom getting pulled over by a cop on the way home.
FRAN
You were the one driving.
CATHERINE
You were in the car.
BRITNEY 2
And why was she driving.
[BRITNEY 2 GETS NO RESPONSE.]
BRIAN
Whatever, I think we've established that day wasn't as special as Catherine seems to think it was. It doesn't compare at all to the time where she said her first word.
CATHERINE
I know, you told me, I said Dad before Mom.
FRAN
No you didn't, you clearly said Mom first. I have it on tape!
BRIAN
Maybe you only taped the time she said Mom and not the time she said Dad?
JOSH
Who cares which word she said first? How about when we all went to a carnival and she got stuck on a Ferris wheel for an hour?
DAVID
Yeah and Mom yelled at the ride operator so much that they got a fire truck over to take her down safely.
CATHERINE
Guys I was the one up there and I can assure you there was no fire truck involved. And there is no way it was an hour either.
FRAN
I remember 15 minutes and why do you remember that day as me yelling at a ride operator? I would remember that.
JOSH
Do any of us agree on anything that happened? Weren't these supposed to be the good times?
FRAN
Maybe my memory's a little foggy, but I do remember that time we were snowed in. A whole week without power!
BRIAN
Our neighbors lost power. Ours was back on in a matter of 3 days.
JOSH
First off, these so-called memories are boring, no matter what the real details are. Second, instead of looking back at these altered memories, why don't we just make some new ones? We're all together now, isn't that the point?
FRAN
It would be a fun idea but I don't even know where my video camera went and I don't have any disposable cameras with me right now.
CATHERINE
Please tell me you have a smartphone.
BRIAN
She does, she's just never noticed the Camera app before. And you say I'm the one stuck in the '80s.
[CATHERINE, DAVID, and JOSH share confused looks wondering how he knows.]
JOSH
Let's do our own competition series-style game. We can all make teams.
DAVID
Would doing this make these new memories seem kind of forced?
JOSH
Only one way to find out. Tomorrow?
FRAN
I like it.
[Cut to BRITNEY, alone upstairs. BRITNEY 2 walks in, as they're sharing a room for the reunion.]
BRITNEY 2
What the hell are you doing?
BRITNEY
I found a good dealer.
BRITNEY 2
I know, I figured. But, why?
BRITNEY
What do you mean why? To have a little fun obviously, this party sucks.
BRITNEY 2
This was never supposed to be a party though. It's a family get-together.
BRITNEY
With a little help from these drugs it can be a party though. Here, take one, they're good.
BRITNEY 2
You've already done it??!!
BRITNEY
Nah you were going to be my test though to make sure these are legit.
BRITNEY 2
It is good to make sure they're somewhat safe, I'll give you that.
BRITNEY
I don't care if they're safe, I want to know if they're good. No sense in taking one that doesn't do anything.
BRITNEY 2
Plus those are way too many, no human should be able to go through all those.
BRITNEY
Some are for Chris and some are for Mom, and Mom already paid ahead.
CHRIS [walking in]
I never said I wanted any and I still don't. [wrestles BRITNEY for them, leaves and flushes them down the toilet.]
BRITNEY
Mom's gonna be so mad.
SETTING: Backyard.
WILLIAM
Catherine texted me, said that the family is doing some type of competition game tomorrow?
ANDREW
That sounds ridiculous. I'm in.
MARY
If Brian and Fran's three kids insist on doing this, I say we team up. Show them who really has the talent here.
JULIAN [approaching]
Anyone interested in signing my notebook?
ANDREW
I'll sign it when you earn it. I need you to form a team with some other kids and come in second place.
JULIAN
OK...
ANDREW
You heard me, I didn't come to lose.
