Chicago Med (2.2) started well for NBC, holding a respectable 78.5% of The Voice's (2.6) 8:30 half-hour, and one dipping one tenth at 9:30. Finishing off NBC's night was Chicago Fire (1.9), down a little without The Voice as a lead-in, even though its new lead-in is much more compatible.

ABC continues the Tuesday struggle, with only Fresh Off the Boat (1.4) showing a little bit of promise. The Muppets (1.2) and Marvel's Agents of SHIELD (1.3) continue to be a disappointing lead-in and lead-out. As the weakest ABC comedy, The Muppets will have a tough time proving it's worthy for another season--but who knows, the brand might get it there. And then a rerun of Shark Tank (0.7), while not as strong as usual, almost doubled last week's Wicked City so there's that.

NCIS (2.1) continues to look good on CBS as the rest of their dramas, like Scorpion and Criminal Minds, keep declining. Sister show NCIS: NO (1.6) is probably no stronger than LA at this point considering the time slot. Limitless (1.4) ticked down from last week, but still shows some promise as it is at or above what Person of Interest probably would have been doing around this time.

The CW saw The Flash (1.3) go down to still good-for-them numbers, though I'm sure they would like it to rise back up next week. iZombie (0.5) also went down to continue its poor retention.

And we're also living in a world where FOX can air all originals, yet still Grandfathered (1.0) comes out on top. But not by much--The Grinder (0.9) and Scream Queens (0.9) are right behind it at fractional numbers. Something needs to be done to their Tuesdays, and the solution is not Brooklyn 9-9.
