NBC had a rough night. The Voice, their absolute hit that nothing brings down, was drastically down last night for their Top 11 night, dropping approximately four tenths overall... It's still their best show, but still... Apparently, Blindspot is more dependant on its lead-in than I tought, the drama also dropping, even though way less than the competition show. It did get a series low, though, dropping to the 1's, which is especially deceiving since it was its winter finale...
CBS could also be quite depressed this morning, even though their case is way less worrying than NBC. What was supposed to be their smash hit became quite a regular show (getting the same numbers than Castle... more on that later) with a 1.5. It's still the highest scripted show of the hour, but they only have FOX and the CW as a competition... Even Scorpion, a sophomore that doesn't rely on a well-known franchise, did better by being stable with a 1.7. NCIS: Los Angeles, though, was down by a tenth.
FOX also had a difficult night. After having 1.5 and higher for several weeks, Gotham got a 1.4, which is still not as low as episode 5, their season low that got a 1.3. What seemed impossible to me happened: even with its already low numbers, Minority Report managed to go down, losing a tenth in every half-hours.
Only ABC had an excellent night yesterday night. With its finale so close, Dancing with the Stars was up, most of the time by six tenths! It was even stable with last year's numbers, a feat most of the shows can't brag about. Even Castle was up, probably due to the power of its lead-in, gaining three tenths. This one was down from last year, though, losing two tenths.
The decision of the CW to give Crazy Ex-Girlfriend additional episodes is even less explicable with last night's numbers. It wasn't down, but the only way to have acceptable ratings was for the show to go up... It's definitely stuck at a 0.3, and Jane the Virgin was back at its usual 0.4 after a bump last week.
What's to check out tonight, ratings wise? How much will the finale of Dancing with the Stars score? How much of its premiere will Chicago Med keep? Will Limitless score a series low?
