Hey everyone, it's Luke Lambright! A LOT of things happened at NBC this week. First, Blindspot was renewed for a second season. Second, The Mysteries of Laura was given three more episodes. And finally, Chicago Fire and Chicago P.D. were also renewed for next season. Essentially, NBC just made my job a whole lot easier. This news has caused me to slightly change the format of my renew/cancel predictions, so go ahead and take a look:

ANALYSIS
The Mysteries of Laura: The Mysteries of Laura has been moved down from "on the bubble" to "likely to be canceled" because NBC decided to give Laura only three more episodes instead of nine. Having only 16 episodes in season two just puts Laura too far away from syndication for a sure-bet renewal. However, it is still possible for NBC to add episodes to Laura's order, so that is what is keeping her out of the "certain to be canceled" territory.
Law & Order: SVU / The Blacklist: These two shows weren't renewed by NBC this week like Blindspot, Chicago Fire, and Chicago P.D. (the other three shows formerly labeled as "certain to be renewed"), but you don't need to worry over the fate of SVU and The Blacklist. They will both be getting their renewals by May 2016.
Grimm: Although Grimm went fractional this week, I still do not believe that we will be seeing the cancellation of this supernatural drama just yet. Grimm is still NBC's highest-rated Friday night show AND it has a syndication deal with TNT. At the very least, we should be seeing a shortened, final season for Grimm next year.
