Fresh Off the Boat S2E8 Review

Thanksgiving is being celebrated this week on Fresh Off the Boat. Read on for my thoughts on the episode!

S2E8 "Huangsgiving"

At the start of the episode, Jessica is awaiting a call from her mother at 5:30 in the morning about who is hosting Thanksgiving this year. She gets the call, and it turns out that she is hosting Thanksgiving this year. Jessica and Louis are determined to make this Thanksgiving better than the ones that Jessica's sister hosted. They come up with differences between the past Thanksgivings and "Huangsgiving". Jessica's mother and sister show up, and Connie, the sister, announces that her and her husband are going through a rough patch. Jessica is convinced that this is just to gain attention, and it is funny.

Louis is hung over the next morning after a night with Connie's husband, though he is fine. Things start to really go wrong when the hens that Louis ordered turn out to be live hens. He gets a turkey from the restaurant, and things start to go well, but Honey and her husband show up, as Louis asked him to play football the previous night. While out playing football, Jessica discovers that the turkey is still raw. She tries to tell Louis through the window, but he is too bad at charades, which is hilarious.

Jessica is angry at Louis, and he decides they should stall. Connie discovers, however, that the turkey is raw, so she goes to get a turkey roaster. Jessica races off after her and they meet at the store. It is a great scene between the two of them and Connie reveals that Thanksgiving is the only time that she gets positive attention.

Overall, this was a good episode. Jessica was very funny.
