Thursday Ratings: Elementary, Life in Pieces Return Up; Heroes: Reborn Also Up

The Big Bang Theory (3.8) was pretty healthy in its move back to Thursday--even though it was six tenths higher last week. Seems like Monday actually may work out better for that show. Perhaps try a Supergirl-Mom-2 Broke Girls female-skewing night in the future? After, Life in Pieces (2.3) managed to rise, giving it a much healthier retention than I would have thought. Some disagree with me, but I actually think it's doing quite well right now. Out of Life In Pieces was Mom (2.0), which only did three tenths worse than this time last season despite having Big Bang as a lead-in then. At 9:30, a Big Bang lead-in (1.7) seemed to inflated the first half-hour of Elementary, which had a 1.5 for the hour, but a 1.6/1.3 for the half-hours. Regardless, the show is still three tenths UP from its premiere last season in the same time slot.

The same 10pm growth cannot be said for How to Get Away with Murder (1.9), which is down a whole nine tenths from last season, but up from last week at least. Preceding it were Grey's Anatomy and Scandal, both at a healthy 2.3, though Scandal is down six tenths from last season while Grey's is only down one.

NBC continues to struggle on Thursday, having the same 1.1 average this season as it did last year, when the line-up was The Biggest Loser-Bad Judge-A to Z-Parenthood. At the very least, Heroes: Reborn (1.3) was up a tenth, but The Blacklist (1.4) may be seeing some ugly spring numbers. The Player (0.7) remained steady with last week, but a 0.7 is a 0.7 and six tenths behind last season's Parenthood.

Neither Bones (1.2) nor Sleepy Hollow (0.9) seemed to benefit from last week's crossover, as the former was down a tenth and the latter two tenths. Bones may be spared for the sake of there being bigger fish to fry, but Sleepy Hollow is a dead show walking in my mind. More on that later when I do my FOX ad rate article.

The CW had The Vampire Diaries (0.6) and The Originals (0.4) steady from last week, though when you look at the half-hours The Originals is already doing worse than what Reign did there last season. Definitely a night they have to try to fix.

In late night news, The Tonight Show (0.9) stayed steady with last week, as did Late Night (0.5). Even though Kimmel (0.7) is down from last week, it's still a couple tenths above its typical numbers. CBS continues to fall behind with Late Show (0.5) and Late Late Show (0.2). I don't remember what Craig Ferguson's numbers were, but they can't be any worse than what Corden is doing now. Wonder if there will be another shake-up.
