Tuesday TV Ratings 1/30/18: Fresh Off the Boat Skates to Average Ratings on SOTU Night (UPDATED)

It was a quiet night pretty much across the board, with the State of the Union making for sparse scripted originals last night. As always, The CW avoided the event, and their shows took advantage of the little competition. The Flash and Black Lightning both ticked up two tenths, with Black Lightning tying its premiere rating and Flash hitting its highest numbers of 2018. Elsewhere, ABC had a double-pumped Fresh Off the Boat, which was at an average 1.0, definitely better than it could have been considering some of its post-Middle datapoints this season. Ellen's Game of Games held steady this week. It's still lower then it was a few weeks ago, but a 1.8 is still a great number no matter how you slice it. CBS had a Super Bowl commercial special that did decently, but didn't exactly set the world on fire either. In a four-way SOTU matchup, NBC easily won, with CBS taking a comfortable second and ABC and Fox both in fractionland.

Finals Update: The second episode of Fresh Off the Boat (-0.1) adjusted down.

TV Ratings 9/5/17: AGT and Paradise Dip, HGN Ticks Up (UPDATED)

It was another quiet Tuesday, with most networks taking the night off again. There were four original programs, and they all posted pretty average results. America's Got Talent was down a tenth but still more than doubled the #2 show. Bachelor in Paradise was down a tenth as well, though it's still a solid number for the Summer staple. Somewhere Between held steady at an unimpressive 0.4. But at least it's not the 0.3s it was pulling earlier in the season. Hollywood Game Night was (at least preliminarily) up to 1.1. The show's retention is horrible, but I'm not really sure what NBC expected from this move. This really just shows how valuable World of Dance was in that slot. As far as repeats go, NCIS was #1, with its fellow CBS procedurals also posting decent numbers.

Finals Update: AGT (+0.1) and Bachelor in Paradise (+0.1)  adjusted up. Hollywood Game Night (-0.1) and repeats of Blackish (-0.1), The Flash (-0.1), and Legends of Tomorrow (-0.1) adjusted down.
