*: Adjusted numbers; no half-hours available
(LY): The numbers are from last year's finale
Please note that last year's numbers are taken from the whole hour statistics, not the half-hours.
There wasn't a lot of original broadcasting last night. ABC had a Christmas-themed night, out of the usual fall lineup, starting with a special celebrating Charlie Brown's 50th anniversary. The special was quite close to the Dancing with the Stars finale aired last week, just like the following program, A Charlie Brown Christmas. They both scored really high, the first one being very close to a 2 and the other one getting it. They were followed by the premier of The Great Holiday Baking Show, that did a bit better than Castle did last week with a 1.2, pretty good for holiday programming.
There wasn't much to look for at CBS either. Only Supergirl continued its run with an original episode, and the disaster finally ended with a 1.6, up a tenth from last week! Let's hope for her that she doesn't fall back down again! Scorpion and NCIS: Los Angeles aired reruns and therefore stayed in the low 1's.
NBC had a pretty decent night, with The Voice back up after last week's drop. It's now in the 3's, and it's also up from last year at the same time of year. NBC also tried something last night: a special presentation of two episodes of Superstore, before their regular airing in January. This proved to be quite good, with the comedy getting a 2.2, up two tenths from Blindspot last week. We'll have to wait and see in September, though, if this method really is good for a show.
FOX aired their regular Monday lineup for the last time this fall, to pretty good numbers. Gotham was up by two tenths, getting a quite impressive 1.6 (Therefore equalizing Supergirl's score at CBS) and the flop Minority Report, which won't return in the winter, was also up by two tenths with a 0.7 for its series finale.
For some weird reason, the CW decided to split their Monday lineup, airing Crazy Ex-Girlfriend now but keeping an episode of Jane the Virgin for later this December (even though Crazy Ex-Girlfriend won't air until January...) Anyway, Crazy Ex-Girlfriend was up by a tenth, going to a 0.4, but its numbers are frequently adjusted down with final ratings. Following it was Greatest Holiday Commercials Countdown, a rerun that got an 0.2, down, of course, from Jane the Virgin's usual performance.
What's to check out tonight, ratings wise? How much will the FOX comedies (The Grinder and Grandfathered) score for their winter finales? Will Chicago Med continue its fall after dropping four tenths last week? Is The Muppets gonna fall even lower than a 1.2?
What do you think of those ratings? Is your favorite show down? What did YOU watch? Tell us in the comments!
