Wednesday Ratings: Arrow Hits Season High, The Middle Beats The Goldbergs

ABC

The Middle: 2.1
The Goldbergs: 2.0
Modern Family: 2.4
Blackish: 1.7
Nashville: 0.9

ABC saw a mixed bag night, with The Middle (2.1) up half a ratings point from last season's fluke series low, also beating The Goldbergs (2.0) in demo and Modern Family (2.4) in viewers. It also won the half-hour amongst the broadcast networks. This is also the first time of the season it has out-rated The Goldbergs, pending adjustments. Leading out of a low Modern Family was Blackish (1.7) and Nashville (0.9), whose fractional rating is not a good sign.

CBS

Survivor: 2.1
Criminal Minds: 1.5
Code Black: 1.5

CBS had a typical 8-10pm with Survivor (2.1) and a weakened-from-last-season Criminal Minds (1.5), but the real story was Code Black (1.5), which managed to tie its lead-in without its Chicago PD competition.

FOX

Rosewood: 1.4
Empire: 4.4

The winter finale of Empire (4.4) scored big, though not nearly as big as its 8.0 premiere. At least it improved over a ratings point from last week. its lead-in, Rosewood (1.4) had half-hours of 1.3 and 1.6, proving it more to be like Bones than Gotham.

NBC

Christmas in Rockefeller Center: 1.5
SNL Christmas: 1.4

NBC had a night of Christmas specials, both doing fairly well (1.5 for Christmas in Rockefeller Center, 1.4 for SNL), though nothing out of the ordinary either.

CW

Arrow: 1.3
Supernatural: 0.9

Part 2 of the Flarrow crossover boosted Arrow (1.3) to a season high. Following it was Supernatural (0.9), which continues to show strength even in its old age.
