- CODE BLACK: I have slightly upgraded Code Black to "Likely to be Canceled." While it's still at a clear disadvantage in having only 18 episodes ordered for the season and effectively leaving the schedule come late February, CBS might have to keep a close eye on this one's performance. In the last three weeks, it has seen its best numbers in the demo since its Sept. 30th premiere. However, it has not aired against NBC's Chicago PD in any of those three airings, which suggests it may very well be benefitting from a lack of direct competition. It's somewhat concerning that its lead-in, Criminal Minds, grew 18.5 percent this week, while Code Black ended up down 7 percent week-to-week. Still, if CBS finds that the audience has slowly but legitimately grown for the medical drama, it might be a "little show that could" in the making for the network. We'll see. It's also dependent on how Supergirl fits in the picture, as well as how Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders does in Code Black's timeslot.
