As expected, Supergirl received a nice boost for The CW at 8pm, rising to a 1.1 A18-49 rating, enough to tie Gotham for 4th place in the time slot. It was followed by Jane the Virgin (0.5), which was up significantly from the filler they aired last season called Greatest Holiday Commercials. Yes, a program full of commercials, interrupted by commercials.

Over on ABC, with Dancing with the Stars finished for the fall, the CMA Country Christmas Special took over, receiving a 1.3 rating, and 10pm drama Conviction even saw a nice bump to a 1.0, pending adjustments.

CBS was mostly in repeat mode last night, though it was interesting to see the order of the line-up. Kevin Can Wait and Man with a Plan's reruns were pushed back a half hour later than when they normally air, airing an 8pm rerun of The Big Bang Theory and not airing a rerun of 2 Broke Girls. The result was Big Bang tying what a Kevin Can Wait original did last week, followed by solid repeat results for the next two, and at 10pm, Scorpion. However, The Odd Couple was an original episode, getting a 0.9 A18-49 rating and failing to grow out of its rerun lead-in.

NBC saw minor downticks from The Voice (2.0) and Timeless (1.1) this week, though the real story should come in the fact that The Voice is down 8 tenths of a ratings point from its performance last season. Timeless is also significantly below the Superstore special premiere (1.8) that aired in the time slot this time last season.

FOX saw nothing out of the ordinary for Gotham (1.1), a show that is solid on its own but probably can't be relied on to launch a new show. So it's a good thing they have Lucifer (1.2) airing at 9pm, which enjoyed a two tenth rise from last week and is up very significantly from last season's airing of Minority Report (0.7).
