Why Is Pitch Now in the 'Leans Cancelation' Category?
The odds aren't looking as good for Pitch right now as they once were. It saw no ratings boost after a World Series push, and its serialized nature will not work in its favor. That's not to mention that it's only marginally growing from Rosewood, which is getting sent off to Fridays. Also, FOX capped Pitch's order at 10, and are replacing it with a cooking show. Maybe it sees some post-L+SD ratings boosts, or maybe the MLB subsidizes it, but those are two factors I have no way of knowing as your average ratingsjunkie.
To put the prediction over the edge, it is no longer overachieving its "goal", at 66% compared to the 70% of FOX's ad rate it was priced at according to AdAge's estimates.
