Please note that last year's numbers are taken from the whole hour statistics, not the half-hours.
Nothing much was happening last night with a lot of the networks airing reruns. NBC obviously didn't do good, being beaten at 8pm by the CW (airing a new episode). ABC, on the other hand, had a good night since most of the reruns were down from only a few tenths from last week of original content (especially Modern Family, only down by two tenths). Where it all went sad, though, was with their only new episode of the night. American Crime was down a tenth in the first half-hour, bringing it to a disastrous 0.9. The same question rises here than with the CW: How long can a low-rated show survive based only on awards recognition?
CBS aired all new episodes of all their line-up, starting with their sitcoms 2 Broke Girls and Mike & Molly, both of them down a tenth. Nothing too deceiving, a 1.6 is still very good and raises even more questioning on why the Melissa McCarthy show has been cancelled so weirdly, with the fate of 2 Broke Girls quite uncertain too... Criminal Minds, on the other hand, is safer than ever, scoring a 2.0, up a tenth in its last half-hour. It's very impressive that a show so old can still pull off that kind of thing. It was followed by Code Black, down a tenth overall (because of a quite alarming slope of .2 in its last half-hour). The show stabilized quite well in its last airing weeks, but it's lower than Stalker last year, and that got cancelled... Will CBS just understand that this is their difficult timeslot and prefer keeping Code Black nonetheless... It would be surprising...
FOX changed their Wednesday line-up this week, taking Second Chance to Fridays and bringing Hell's Kitchen here, on Wednesdays, creating a competition show block with American Idol. While the latter was up 1-2 tenths from last week, Hell's Kitchen only raised a tenth from its performance on a much more difficult timeslot. Maybe everyone that wanted to watch the show already did on Fridays? It's still way better than what Second Chance could do, so it's a good change anyway.
Everything was stable on the CW, as most of the times. None of those shows seem to be in danger whatsoever.
