ANALYSIS
Superstore: With a strong 1.8 rating this Monday for its time slot premiere, I have decided to move up 'Superstore' from "on the bubble" to "likely to be renewed." Although this freshman comedy has only aired a few times, it already shows signs of being NBC's strongest comedy in a long time. Also, the network is now airing repeats of the show every Friday at 8:30, so it definitely seems as if they actually care about 'Superstore.' You will likely be seeing this show next season.
Telenovela: 'Telenovela' followed 'Superstore' with a mediocre 1.3 rating on Monday, which was actually enough for me to move this show from "likely to be canceled" to "on the bubble." I need more time to watch this show in its current time slot to determine its likely fate, so stay tuned in the upcoming weeks.
Shades of Blue: This Jennifer Lopez-led drama shocked all when it debuted to a 1.8 rating in NBC's notorious Thursday nights at 10 death slot, but since only one episode has aired, I am leaving 'Shades of Blue' on the bubble until I see the numbers for at least one or two more airings.
Undateable: With the above-average performances of 'Superstore' and 'Telenovela' for NBC comedies, the fate of veteran 'Undateable' isn't looking too bright anymore. That is why I have decided to move it down from "on the bubble" to "likely to be canceled." It is not "certain" because there is always a chance the ratings of 'Superstore' and 'Telenovela' plummet, but until then, 'Undateable' will have to sit in "likely cancellation" territory.
