Ratings Analysis: NBC's 'The Blacklist' (0.39) returned for its ninth season in fairly unremarkable fashion. This was just a single hundredth below last year's premiere (0.40) and higher than a good majority of its spring 2021 episodes but much of that can be attributed to the move from the Friday night graveyard to a more high-priority, Thursday timeslot. The arrival of 'The Blacklist' seemed to negatively impact the 500th episode of 'Law & Order: SVU' (0.64, -0.08) and 'Law & Order: Organized Crime' (0.50, -0.05) but the pair ultimately lost just a few hundredths in the process. CBS's lineup was down across the board, with new entry 'Ghosts' (0.53, -0.08) taking the biggest hit after last week's stunning uptick. Struggling sophomores 'United States of Al' (0.44) and 'B Positive' (0.40) forfeited six-hundredths apiece. 'Young Sheldon' (0.63) fell by two hundredths at the start of the lineup while 'Bull' (0.31) closed out the evening by losing one-hundredth. Over on ABC, 'Station 19' (0.62, +0.06), 'Grey's Anatomy' (0.63, +0.02), and 'Big Sky' (0.35, +0.01) all picked up a couple ticks. Fox's 'Broncos v. Browns' NFL game (3.72) was four tenths behind the week-ago football telecast. On the CW, the finale of 'Coroner' (0.05) dropped two-hundredths but 'Legacies' (0.09) actually rose by three-hundredths from last week's unsatisfactory return.
Finals Update: 'NFL' (+1.6) and 'Big Sky' (+0.1) adjusted up.
