Ratings Analysis: Though the CSI franchise lives on through syndication and streaming, the series debut of CBS's 'CSI: Vegas' (0.46) proved that viewers may not be interested in new content from the aging IP. This performance might have been acceptable for a 10pm drama not associated with such a famous brand but it probably won't be enough to keep 'Vegas' afloat. Earlier in the night, 'Survivor' (0.94) took the crown away from 'Masked Singer' despite falling by six-hundredths when compared to its previous outing. The 9pm return of 'Tough As Nails' (0.50) was essentially on-par with its winter 2021 run. Fox's 'The Masked Singer' (0.90) settled for a second-place finish, losing a full tenth from last week. 'Alter Ego' (0.42) lost about five-hundredths in the 9pm slot. On ABC, 'The Wonder Years' (0.47) fell by three-hundredths in week three, even as both 'The Goldbergs' (0.58, +0.03) and 'The Conners' (0.52, +0.01) posted minor gains. 'Home Economics' (0.35, -0.01) inched down while 'A Million Little Things' (0.23) completely collapsed in the 10pm hour. NBC's 'Chicago Med' (0.83) got back a tenth but 'Chicago Fire' (0.80, -0.05) and 'Chicago PD' (0.75, -0.01) experienced some small declines. The finales of 'Riverdale' (0.08) and 'In the Dark' (0.07) gained three-hundredths apiece on the CW.
Finals Update: 'The Masked Singer' (+0.1), 'Chicago PD' (+0.1) and 'CSI: Vegas' (+0.1) adjusted up. Analysis to come.
