INT. PIZZA PALACE - NIGHT
Edison and Brittaney sit across from each other in a booth. Brittaney is now somewhat pregnant. On the table is a large pizza which is more than half finished.
BRITTANEY
Should we get a cheesy bread to go?
EDISON
You just had six slices of deep-dish pizza.
BRITTANEY
Yeah, so? I’m eating for two now FYI.
EDISON
(Sigh)
Okay.
Edison gets up.
BRITTANEY
See if they can add peanut butter.
EDISON
I don’t think a pizza place will have peanut butter.
BRITTANEY
Well, just ask just in case.
EDISON
Man, pregnancy is weird.
INT. APARTMENT - NIGHT
Andrew, Megan, and Paige sit on the couch watching TV. Edison and Brittaney enter. Brittaney is carrying a cheesy bread.
BIRTTANEY
Hey guys, is there any peanut butter in the pantry.
ANDREW
Uhhh I don’t know.
BRITTANEY
I’ll check. Brittaney goes into the kitchen.
Edison sits on the couch.
MEGAN
Are you okay?
EDISON
Uhhh yeah. Why wouldn’t I be?
ANDREW
Well, it’s been a couple months since Brittaney told you she was pregnant with your child. We’re just checking in on you.
EDISON
Thanks. We’re great.
MEGAN
So, are you all dating or not? I’m still not clear on that.
PAIGE
I was wondering that too.
EDISON
We’re not dating. We’re… friends who are having a baby.
ANDREW
You know, you’ve really matured since this whole thing.
EDISON
I know. I’ve even started eating raisin bran. I really am growing up.
MEGAN
Uh huh.
EDISON
Oh, by the way, Britt’s staying the night again.
MEGAN
Is it just me or is this apartment feeling smaller now?
ANDREW
No, it does. Brittaney and Paige practically live here now. No offense.
PAIGE
None taken.
EDISON
Wait, are both of y’all saying we need a bigger place.
Andrew and Megan look at each other and then nod at Edison.
EDISON
This is great. We can rent a house. That way Britt and I will be together more and be able raise the kid. What do y’all say.
ANDREW
I’m down.
EDISON
Great, I’m gonna go tell Britt.
Edison gets up and enters the kitchen where Brittaney is putting peanut butter on a slice of cheesy bread.
BRITTANEY
Want some?
EDISON
No, listen, what do you think about us renting a house.
BRITTANEY
Uhhhhhh.
EDISON
With the others of course.
BRITTANEY
Sounds great!
Brittaney takes another bite of peanut butter cheesy bread.
BRITTANEY
Sure you don’t want some?
EXT. HOUSE - DAY
The group stands in front of a one story rental house.
ANDREW
How did you find this place?
EDISON
Scarlet Brown.
ANDREW
The real-estate mogul that bought our apartment?
EDISON
Yep. She was desperate to rent this place. Apparently it’s haunted. That’s how I got the rent cut in half.
MEGAN
I’m sorry, did you say haunted?
BRITTANEY
Well, I think it looks great.
A car pulls up and Sarah gets out.
ANDREW
What is she doing here?
EDISON
Look man, you and Sarah may not be a couple or even friends anymore, but she is Brittaney’s best friend. This is only gonna work if she moves in with us. You two are just going to have to get along.
Sarah reaches the group. She and Andrew avoid each other’s gaze.
SARAH
So, this is the place?
BRITTANEY
Yeah, we were about to go inside.
SARAH
Great.
INT. HOUSE - DAY
The group walks into the house. It is spacious with a large living room and narrow hallways.
EDISON
Four bedrooms. One for Megan and Paige, one for Sarah, one for you Britt, and one for me and Andrew.
ANDREW
Wait, you and I are sharing a room?
EDISON
Well, I just thought Brittaney would want some privacy.
BRITTANEY
I’m okay with us sharing a room.
EDISON
You are?
BRITTANEY
Unless you’re not.
EDISON
No, I… I’m cool.
BRITTANEY
Great.
EDISON
Great. Shall we check out the backyard?
They head outside.
SARAH
Andrew.
Andrew stays behind.
SARAH
Can we talk?
ANDREW
About what?
SARAH
We haven’t talked at all over the summer and whenever we’re around each other, we don’t acknowledge each other’s existence. Now we’re going to be living under the same roof together.
ANDREW
What do you want me to say?
SARAH
I don’t know. I just think we need to… bury the hatchet.
ANDREW
Okay.
SARAH
Friends?
ANDREW
Yeah. Friends.
The former couple smile at each other. A forced smile.
EXT. BACKYARD - DAY
Brittaney is checking out the backyard. Edison is standing with Megan and Paige.
EDISON
Remember when I said Britt and I were just friends. I think… I want to be more.
MEGAN
What’re you gonna do?
EDISON
I don’t know. I… honestly don’t know.
Edison walks over to Brittaney and admires the yard with her.
PAIGE
Is it just me, or are we the only stable couple in this group?
MEGAN
Oh no, we are.
