New Amsterdam Becomes First New Show to Score a Backorder

The first full-season order of the season has arrived, and NBC's newest drama series is the recipient. New Amsterdam, featuring a lead performance from The Blacklist's Ryan Eggold, will be sticking around for at least a full season. While not as strong a performer as Monday drama Manifest, New Amsterdam has still proven itself a solid performer. It retains an acceptable amount of its big This Is Us lead-in, and averages a 1.6 thus far. This is better than every new series on the rest of the Big 4, making New Amsterdam the fall's #2 new series. The series features Tyler Labine, Anupam Kher, and Janet Montgomery in supporting performances. There is no word yet on NBC's other fall newbies. The TV Ratings Guide currently lists New Amsterdam as a likely renewal, as of our latest NBC Renew/Cancel.
