It's a good day to be a fan of three of CBS's new series. The Neighborhood, God Friended Me, and Magnum PI have all been extended past their initial orders. The Neighborhood becomes the only new comedy to be extended by CBS. Murphy Brown, per the initial plan, won't run for longer than 13 episodes this year, while no decision has been made on Happy Together. Meanwhile, extensions for Magnum and God Friended Me makes for a clean sweep of fall newbie dramas getting extensions (FBI was extended at a previous date). The Neighborhood has performed the best of these three shows so far, successfully launching without much help on Mondays. Magnum PI has struggled since its debut, but it has remained steady since week two with an OK 0.9. God Friended Me, meanwhile, has been an odd case. It's not doing all that great, but it's not doing poorly either, growing from its 60 Minutes lead-in in week two (its only week without NFL help so far).
The Neighborhood and God Friended Me are said to be nine-episode extensions that bring their episode count to 22, while Magnum PI is said to be a seven-episode extension that brings its episode count to 20.
