The Tuesday series premiere of ABC's 'Roseanne' reboot, 'The Conners,' bowed to the best ratings on the week for all scripted series on both broadcast and cable. Though the 2.35 18-49 rating was a far cry from what 'Roseanne' pulled in its season premiere back in March (5.16 rating), it's only down slightly from what 'Roseanne' scored in its spring finale (2.47). In addition, the 10.57 million viewers that watched last week's premiere was almost exactly even with what 'Roseanne' averaged in its spring finale (10.58 million).
Lead-out 'The Kids Are Alright' (1.42, 6.52 million) lost almost an entire point (0.93) from its huge lead-in, but still brought in solid numbers for its premiere. The season premiere of 'blackish' (1.04, 4.1 million) was down significantly from last fall's premiere (1.49, 4.71 million) and from its spring finale (1.22, 4.96 million). 'Splitting Up Together' (0.87, 3.31 million) fell to its lowest numbers in its second-season premiere, down 0.15 from its spring finale numbers (1.02, 4.02 million). Finally, the series-premiere of 'The Rookie' (0.98, 5.43 million) saw impressive growth from it's lead-in.
