Ratings Analysis: Without sizable NFL help, CBS's '60 Minutes' (0.56, -0.77) dropped back down to a rating that was just about on-par with its delivery from two weeks ago (0.57). In the 8PM slot, 'The Equalizer' (0.53, -0.13) retained a stellar 95% of its lead-in and was two-hundredths higher than its May finale (0.51). At 9, new drama 'East New York' (0.40, -0.06) had a surprisingly light dip in week two and led into the season 14 premiere of 'NCIS: Los Angeles' (0.37). 'Los Angeles' improved a tiny bit on its finale (0.35) but was well below its Fall 2021 performance, as to be expected for a series making the move from 9PM to the 10PM hour. On ABC, Sunday staple 'America's Funniest Home Videos' (0.37, +0.03) grew from a dismal premiere and was followed by a steady edition of 'Celebrity Jeopardy!' (0.37, 0.00). Things became less encouraging in the back-half of the evening as 'Celebrity Wheel of Fortune' (0.33, -0.03) and 'The Rookie' (0.27, -0.03) lost three-hundredths apiece. These served as new series lows for both programs. Fox had 'NFL Overrun' (6.33) and 'The OT' (2.98) in their corner again, but 'The Simpsons' (1.07, +0.60) was not quite as solid as it was on premiere night (1.41). 'The Great North' (0.65, +0.30) was a full tenth lower than its last NFL-boosted episode while 'Bob's Burgers' (0.58, +0.21) was actually a hundredth higher than it was two weeks ago. At 9:30, 'Family Guy' (0.47, +0.08) was three-hundredths below its premiere. NBC's telecast of the 'Bengals v. Ravens' NFL game (4.62) was nearly a full point lower than the 'Chiefs v. Buccaneers' game (5.53) that aired on October 2nd. On the CW, 'Family Law' (0.09, +0.06) and 'Coroner' (0.06, +0.03) surged after debuting with a pair of abysmal 0.03s last week.
