Ratings Analysis: NBC's telecast of the '2022 Billboard Music Awards' (0.67) was relatively on-par with the 2021 broadcast (0.73) as the ceremony lost just a paltry 8% on a year-to-year basis. The rerun of 'Weakest Link' (0.26) that preceded the event placed third in the 7PM timeslot. ABC's 'America's Funniest Home Videos' (0.71, +0.03) picked up three-hundredths and was the highest-rated program of the night. 'American Idol' (0.66, -0.10) and the season finale of 'The Rookie' (0.36, -0.05) went in the opposite direction of 'AFV'. CBS's 'The Equalizer' (0.51, -0.06) also declined for its finale, as did regular episodes of '60 Minutes' (0.46, -0.10), 'NCIS: Los Angeles' (0.43, -0.01), and 'SWAT' (0.41, -0.02). 'Duncanville' (0.17, +0.04) and 'The Simpsons' (0.31, +0.05) received some much-needed relief on Fox. The remaining three originals rose by three-hundredths apiece ['The Great North' (0.26, +0.03), 'Bob's Burgers' (0.35, +0.03), Family Guy' (0.38, +0.03)]. Even the 7PM rerun of 'The Simpsons' (0.18) was six-hundredths higher than the week-ago one (0.12). The CW's veteran drama 'Riverdale' (0.04, -0.02) shed two-hundredths and was put to shame by repeats of 'Whose Line Is It Anyway?' (0.05) and 'Would I Lie to You?' (0.04).
