Saturday TV Ratings 10/22/22: MLB Tops College Football and Leads the Night, Magic with the Stars Starts Low (UPDATED)

Ratings Analysis: Fox's broadcast of the 'Padres v. Phillies' MLB game (1.37) was markedly stronger than ABC's 'MN v. Penn St.' college football game (0.77), thus leading the Fox network to another Saturday victory. On the CW, the series premiere of 'Criss Angel's Magic with the Stars' (0.05) failed to amaze and was bested by the return of 'World's Funniest Animals' (0.07/0.06). On CBS, 10PM staple '48 Hours' (0.17, -0.14) suffered a steep decline on a week-to-week basis. Much of this is because the reruns of 'So Help Me Todd' (0.19) and 'Hours' (0.13) that led into it were not NFL-inflated like last week's encores were. NBC went with reruns of 'Quantum Leap' (0.10), 'Dateline' (0.16), and 'SNL Vintage' (0.26).

Finals Update: 'MLB: Padres v. Phillies' (+0.5), 'College Football: MN V. Penn State' (+0.2), 'SNL Vintage' (+0.1), and the repeat of 'Dateline' (+0.1) adjusted up.
