Another week has come and gone, and that week brought several new premieres on TV, as well as some big surprises on the streaming charts. Keep reading to see what was trending on Hulu, Disney+, Peacock, Paramount+ and HBO Max this week.
Hulu:
It was a week of hurricanes and aliens dominating on Hulu. Nation Geographic's five-part Hurricane Katrina: Race Against Time started off the week at #1, even though it finished airing a few weeks ago. It already had a strong week on Hulu last week, having ranged from third to fifth on the chart all week, and was solid the week before as well, but this was its first time hitting #1. It didn't stay there all week, though, and was down to #6 on the chart by the end of the week. It was replaced at #1 by Alien: Earth, the TV spinoff of the legendary Alien film franchise, which has been #1 since it hit Hulu. That meant that several of last week's top performers didn't see any time at the top of the chart this week. King of the Hill started the week at #2, but slowly but surely worked its way down the chart, ending the week at #10. Given that it was a binge release, this is not an unexpected result. Though they often linger on the chart for a long time, like with The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives and The Bear, Hulu binge drops aren't usually longtime chart-toppers. So, considering that, this is still a decent showing for King of the Hill. Also looking decent, but not topping the chart, is Project Runway, which peaked at #2 this week. It stayed in the top ten all week. Bachelor in Paradise was the best-performing of ABC's series, but didn't reach the high heights it's used to reaching. It peaked at #2 this week, spending two days there, and dropped to #6 at its worst point. ABC's other summer offerings continued to be middling Hulu performers. Though they peaked at just #12 for one day each, ABC's next-best performers were Who Wants to Be a Millionaire and Celebrity Family Feud. That's a mild bit of improvement for Millionaire from last week, while Feud is still on the decline. Like its Wednesday night lead-in, Match Game also performed a bit better than last week, up to #13 this week - though it's still not exactly lighting Hulu on fire. Press Your Luck was again MIA in its final week of the season. Daytime soap General Hospital remained a respectable performer for ABC, jumping up as high as #2 on the chart. Fox's best performer was MasterChef, which had its highest performance of the season, rising up to #2 on Friday. It charted six days in all, tied for the most of any Fox show this week. Bob's Burgers was the other Fox show on the chart six days, which was actually a below-average showing for it. It peaked at #7 this week, doing so several days after a new episode aired. The show aired its finale this week, so it'll likely be taking a brief hiatus from the Hulu chart, but it's due to return in just over a month, and we'll see it again very soon. The Quiz with Balls was back after a week off, and came in a bit below its typical performance, with one day on the chart at #10. The Snake performed a bit better, charting one day at #7. Gordon Ramsay's Secret Service has really weakened on Hulu as of late, but it still performed better than pretty much any Fox unscripted show besides its own lead-in. It spent five days on the chart, peaking at #6. The Great North and a TMZ Hulk Hogan special both failed to chart. FX's It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia continued to chart through the week, peaking at #5.
Disney+:
Though movies continued to make up a large part of the Disney+ chart, it was a TV series that really dominated the service's chart this week. Alien: Earth, the first TV series from the Alien media franchise, debuted straight at #1 and has not left the top spot. As seen above, it's also dominating Hulu in a similar fashion, and it's pretty unusual for a show to top both charts simultaneously for multiple days straight. In fact, it's unusual to even see a broadcast or cable show reach #1 on Disney+ at all, as most shows that air on linear TV tend to perform much better on Hulu than they do on Disney+. Alien: Earth seems to be an early success across the board, with a solid start in pretty much every metric thus far. It wasn't the only new show on the chart. Iron Man and His Awesome Friends, a Disney Junior series that dropped its first ten episodes on Disney+ the day following its cable premiere, debuted at #5 on the chart, and hasn't dropped below that point yet. Also charting was fellow kids cartoon SuperKitties, which spent the first four days of the week on the chart before slipping off. Hurricane Katrina: Race Against Time charted six days this week, but was weaker here than it was on Hulu. Mickey Mouse Clubhouse+ and Eyes of Wakanda made sparse appearances on the chart after being more regular presences on the chart the last few weeks. As for the movies, Freaky Friday and Rio both topped the chart this week, while The Incredibles, The Parent Trap, The Monkey and Ice Age were among the shows to chart multiple days this week.
Note: Disney+ is the only service not to provide a separate list for TV shows and movies. On this chart, movies are listed in bold.
Peacock:
Peacock's chart remains a bit of a mystery. The top show on the service this week was not their ongoing comedy video game adaptation Twisted Metal, but rather the late 90s/early 2000s Fox sitcom That '70s Show. The series has been on Peacock for several years, but made its first appearance on their chart this week, entering straight at #1 on Tuesday. The two days before that, the chart was led by a recap of season 6 of Love Island, a recap which dropped off the chart entirely as soon as it left the top spot. The aforementioned Twisted Metal was #2 the entire week. Dateline NBC was NBC's only series on the chart this week, as America's Got Talent, American Ninja Warrior and Survival Mode all failed to chart. Resident Alien's final episode was added to Peacock this week, boosting it to #6 on the chart as it charted five days in all. Much of the rest of the list was comprised of Peacock series. Real Housewives of Orange County and Miami, Below Deck and The Valley all spent at least the majority of the week on the chart, if not the entire week. Other unscripted cable shows on the chart included Snapped, The McBee Dynasty and Love After Lockup.

Paramount+:
South Park hasn't left the #1 spot on Paramount+ since this season premiered, and it doesn't look like that's due to change anytime soon. The series didn't air a new episode this week, but maintained a tight grip on the #1 spot despite several series airing new episodes. Big Brother was Paramount+'s next-best performer, making it to #2 three times this week, more than any other show. It was in the top ten all week, with sixth place being its worst showing of the week (it dropped that low four times, meaning it was either #2 or #6 on the chart throughout the entire week). Also performing fairly well was Dexter: Resurrection, which tied its best performance of the season by peaking at #3, charting four days. Its parent series, Dexter, charted more times than that (it spent the whole week on the chart, but has far more episodes to its name for people to binge), but peaked at #5. After an off week last week, Star Trek: Strange New Worlds didn't improve this week, again charting only the four days and peaking at #6. Murder 360 charted three days this week before it left the chart. NCIS was the only CBS series to spend the entire week on the chart this week without airing any new episodes recently. Blue Bloods and Survivor both charted six days, while The Neighborhood and Ghosts both returned to the top ten for a day each. Everybody Loves Raymond hadn't charted in weeks, but was back on the chart for three days this week.

HBO Max:
And Just Like That... HBO Max said goodbye. After nearly thirty years, the Sex and the City franchise appears to have well and truly ended, allegedly a creative decision. The follow-up series to the legendary Emmy-winning rom com was controversial among the show's fans, but seemed to perform well on HBO Max regardless. It consistently topped the HBO Max chart throughout its third season, typically spending three days at #1. That was the case again this week, when it started the week at #1, slipped the next few days, and then was back to #1 for two days to close out the week. While the show has now ended, we'll likely be seeing it on the chart for the next several weeks, with HBO and HBO Max only having a few scripted premieres in the upcoming weeks. It wasn't the only HBO series to depart the airwaves this week, as The Gilded Age (which also stars Cynthia Nixon) also ended its third season. The period drama from the creator of Downton Abbey has been renewed, so we'll see it again sometime in the next year or so, and its HBO Max performance suggests that that renewal was earned. It's been sharing the top spot on Max with And Just Like That throughout its third season, and spent three days at the top this week. NFL docuseries Hard Knocks continued to stop HBO Max's two top scripted shows from being the only shows of the week to top the chart. It again rose up to #1 on Max on Thursday, and spent most of the week in the top five. HBO had several other series taking up spots in the top ten, including true crime series The Yogurt Shop Murders, which peaked at #2 and stayed in the top five all week. Real Time with Bill Maher charted four days this week, rising as high as #3. Last Week Tonight continued to be the better chart performer of HBO's two long-running talk series, hitting the same #3 peak as Real Time, but staying on the chart the whole week. HBO Max reality series Back to the Frontier continued to perform decently enough, peaking at #4 and charting for days. Several other unscripted series from WBDiscovery's cable networks also made the char this week, including Welcome to PLathville, 90 Day: Hunt for Love, 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After, and A Killer Among Friends.Poll of the Week:
