This is The TV Ratings Guide’s first renew/cancel post for Peacock, Comcast’s paid streaming service. Using audience demand figures from Parrot Analytics can give us a solid stance on where things stand at the moment. Let us know what you think by leaving a comment!
Note: If a show receives a 5.0 in the ‘U.S. Audience Demand Multiplier,’ that means the show has five times more audience demand than the average show across all of television, past and present, on a rolling 30-day average. These numbers are updated as of Saturday, January 23, 2021.
Show | Genre | U.S. Audience Demand Multiplier | Countries With Audience Demand Higher Than U.S. | Prediction |
Curious George | Continuation | 10.3 | 0 | Renewal Predicted |
Brave New World | Drama | 7.4 | 6 | Already Canceled |
Saved by the Bell | Comedy | 7.3 | 0 | Already Renewed |
A.P. Bio | Continuation | 5.8 | 0 | Already Renewed |
Where’s Waldo? | Continuation | 1.2 | 0 | Cancelation Predicted |
Cleopatra in Space | Animation | 0.5 | 2 | Cancelation Predicted |
Curious George
A continuation from PBS, Curious George is currently the most in-demand show on Peacock in the United States. Sure, it only had to beat five other shows, but first place is first place and has likely helped Peacock get some eyeballs from children.
Where’s Waldo?
Where’s Waldo? comes nowhere close to Curious George in audience demand. Given how many shows are indexed on Parrot Analytics, the average show likely doesn’t have all that much of a demand. They could give it a “pity renewal” given they’re a new streaming service, but there are many other options they have coming that have the opportunity to do much better.
Cleopatra in Space
Despite being based on an existing graphic novel series, Cleopatra in Space simply has not taken off on Peacock. It does a bit better in Australia and the United Kingdom, but not by much. There’s no reason to believe one should be on Cleopatra in Space being renewed, especially with Brave New World proving Peacock is willing to cancel shows.
