FADE IN:

EXT. MANHATTAN SKYLINE - DAY

An urban area is situated in Staten Island in the middle of  New York City.

INT. CONFERENCE ROOM - DAY

Previously on Network, a conference meeting was in progress.  Ash, Nellie, Will, Jesse, Charlie, and Matt are all gathered together at the table.

Nellie raises her eyebrows.

Charlie looks at Nellie in confusion.

NELLIE

Do you mean to tell me that certain shows such as The Bullpen, as low rated as is, get a spinoff?

CHARLIE

Except it makes money and it is produced in-house.

BACK TO THE PRESENT EPISODE.

INT. CONFERENCE ROOM - DAY

The conversation continues from a previous episode.

NELLIE

Is it cheap to produce?

Charlie shrugs.

NELLIE (CONT'D)

Obviously, it's a sport that is not as

popular.

JESSE

Have you not heard of the World

Series?

NELLIE

It's a different thing.

JESSE

Well.

 2.

Charlie shrugs her shoulders.

Ash then opens up his laptop, which was sitting in front of him on the table.

ASH

Alright, now let's get back to

business.

The rest of the coworkers stare right into Ash.

ASH (CONT'D)

What are you guys staring at?

CHARLIE

Nothing, really.

INT. CHARLIE'S OFFICE - AN HOUR LATER

After the meeting, Charlie resigns herself in her chair,  thinking to herself.

CHARLIE (V.O.)

Where did it all go wrong from here?

So many promising shows only for

 something to get cut?

She shrugs in disbelief.

Suddenly, there's a knock on the door.

The door opens to reveal Jesse.

JESSE

How are you holding up?

CHARLIE

Well, not very well at the moment.

She gets up.

She walks towards Jesse, who hugs her.

JESSE

Understandably, I have no idea what

Nellie was talking about.

CHARLIE

Imagine cutting a pilot because of a

dang number.

 3.

JESSE

Unfortunately, that's the business.

Jesse lets go of Charlie.

He shrugs.

Charlie sighs.

CHARLIE

(sorrowfully)

Unfortunately, you're right.

Next week, we know which shows make it to the chopping block.
