Mr. Mayor: Though 0.6 isn't a huge number for a premiere, NBC comedy is in a very sad state, and expectations for Mr. Mayor weren't very high. Airing against solid competition from Celebrity Wheel of Fortune, a 0.6 is a fine start. Its 0.60 premiere just a hundredth below Superstore's season premiere, and is the highest premiere rating for a new NBC comedy since I Feel Bad's post-America's Got Talent premeire in September 2018. It also seems that NBC is fully behind the series, repeating its hour-long premiere just a day after it first aired and airing the first half of the premiere before Sunday's NFL game. They want this to work, and given their close relationship with creators Carlock and Fey and star Danson, it seems very likely that they'd be willing to give it a second chance, even if the ratings drop pretty low. It's bold, but I'm placing it as a LIKELY RENEWAL for now.
