Wednesday TV Ratings 3/10/21: The Masked Singer Returns With a New Low, Game of Talents Has Passable Start, Chicago Med Rises (UPDATED)

Preliminary Analysis: Fox triumphantly brought 'The Masked Singer' (1.2) back to the airwaves, but the singing-competition series ended up hitting a new series low. Although it was still the highest-rated program of the evening, this went a concerning six-tenths behind its winter finale (1.8). Only time will tell if 'Masked Singer' will manage to stop its slide or continue losing viewers at a rapid rate. The reality juggernaut led into the series premiere of 'Game of Talents' (0.7), the latter starting at a very mediocre level. 'Talents' began lower than every single episode of 'I Can See Your Voice' (the previous show to air after 'Masked Singer') and retained less than 60% of its lead-in. Just one brutal post-premiere drop will put this series in disastrous territory, but it could actually look quite nice if it manages to stay around this range. In contrast to the rough return on Fox, NBC's 'One Chicago lineup was back from a three-week break in stellar fashion. 'Chicago Med' (1.0) gained a tenth in the 8pm hour, 'Chicago Fire' (0.9) inched down, and 'Chicago PD' (0.8) held even at 10. 'Tough As Nails' (0.4) was flat on CBS but 'SEAL Team' (0.4) and 'SWAT' (0.3) found themselves hitting new lows. ABC's 'The Con' (0.2) also dropped down to its lowest rating yet, shedding a tenth behind repeats of 'The Goldbergs' (0.5), 'American Housewife' (0.4), 'The Conners' (0.3), and 'Call Your Mother' (0.3). The CW's 'Riverdale' (0.1) lost a tenth as 'Nancy Drew' (0.1) tied its week-ago broadcast.
