Preliminary Analysis: NBC's 'Young Rock' (0.6) just couldn't seem to stop its slide in week 3, down another two-tenths to its lowest rating yet. This means that 'Rock' is now barely above half of what it garnered for its debut. 'Kenan' (0.5) was a lot more stable in comparison, down just a few hundredths from its week-ago 0.55. Later in the night, 'The Voice' (0.9) lost two-tenths from yesterday's performance while the season 3 premiere of 'New Amsterdam' (0.6) tied its series low at 10. 'Amsterdam' came in four-tenths below its season 2 premiere (1.0) and three-tenths behind its finale (0.9).
Over on the CW, 'The Flash' (0.3) also matched its low-point for its season 7 start. While it was just a tenth shy of its May 2020 finale (0.4), the superhero drama was three-tenths short of its October 2019 return (0.6). 'Superman & Lois' (0.3) inched down in the 9pm slot for its second episode. CBS was back in originals in a pretty disappointing manner as 'NCIS' (0.8) and 'FBI: Most Wanted' (0.5) each lost a tenth. In-between those two, 'FBI' (0.6) took a more concerning two-tenth drop. On ABC, 'Black-ish' (0.4) tied its season low while 'Mixed-ish' (0.3) hit a new one. The struggling sitcom led into an uninspiring start for the six-part documentary 'Soul of a Nation' (0.3). Earlier in the evening, 'To Tell the Truth' (0.5) shed a tenth when compared to its previous 8pm installment. Back after a week off, Fox's 'The Resident' (0.6) remained steady but 'Prodigal Son' (0.3) fell to a fresh, new low.
Finals Update: 'Mixedish' (+0.1), 'Soul of a Nation' (+0.1), 'FBI' (+0.1), 'Young Rock' (+0.1) and 'Prodigal Son' (+0.1) adjusted up.
