Just four episodes in, CBS has already given a massive show of support to The Equalizer: They've renewed the Queen Latifah-fronted procedura for a second season. The show, which is based on the Edward Woodward series from the mid-to-late 1980s which was later adapted into a pair of Denzel Washington films, disappointed majorly in the ratings for its post-Super Bowl debut, but has since gone on to become one of the highest-rated scripted series on CBS, rating only behind FBI and NCIS for its three episodes in its regular slot. It has consisently tied or grown from 60 Minutes (the #1 show on CBS overall this season) in those three episodes, and has been a bright slot in a mediocre Sunday lineup for the Tiffany Network. Aside from Latifah, The Equalizer also stars Lorraine Toussaint, Liza Lapira, Adam Goldberg and Chris Noth.
This is a correct prediction for The TV Ratings Guide.
