NBC Admits Law & Order: Organized Crime is Elaborate April Fools Hoax

Turns out Elliot Stabler isn't coming back to TV any time soon. The highly-anticipated return of Chris Meloni's beloved SVU character was nothing more than a long-running April Fools prank by NBC. Law & Order: Organized Crime does not exist in any way, shape or form, and certainly won't be airing in its announced 10 PM timeslot tonight. Instead, repeats of Dateline will remain in the 10 PM timeslot. NBC President Susan Rovner says "We thank Christopher Meloni for playing along with this joke for an entire year. Its initial announcement was part of an early April Fools Day joke in 2020, and it got so much buzz that we kept up to joke long enough to get another years of April Fools laughs out of it." Meloni will also not be making a previously-announced guest spot on parent show SVU tonight.
