Duncanville Renewed by Fox For Third Season

In a shocking move, Fox is renewing the abysmally-rated Duncanville for a third season even before its second season has premiered. This news comes less than a week after the not-surprising cancellation of Bless the Harts, a show that Fox seemingly favored over Duncanville given its two fall scheduling placements vs. Duncanville's zero. Duncanville is set to air its second season this summer, which seemed to be a sign that Fox wasn't confident in it and was burning it off. Instead, Fox may potentially be looking to continue airing animated programs all year long. The network has many animated programs in development, with new cartoon Housebroken set to air alongside Duncanville this summer and multiple projects up for series order consideration, inclduing adaptations of Clue and The X-Files. Duncanville premiered in February 2020, averaging a 0.41 in its eleven episodes, lower than all but two post-Simpsons episodes of Bless the Harts. However, the series is said to be a good performer for Fox on streaming platforms, and boasts a creative team that includes Amy Poehler, who voices multiple lead characters. Also starring on the series are Ty Burrell, Rashida Jones, Riki Lindhome, Yassir Lester, Betsy Sodaro, Zach Cherry, Joy Osmanski and Wiz Khalifa.
