Weekly Questions #2: An Open-Ended Discussion

Here are five open-ended discussion questions, as well as my answers to them. Leave your own in the comment section!

1. What do you think of the news that CBS is reviving CSI?

I’m not all that surprised that CSI is coming back. Its ratings were very weak at the end, but it is still a name people remember. I’m guessing many will check it out for nostalgic purposes, similar to what happened with Law & Order: SVU/Law & Order: Organized Crime. I don’t think it will be a long-running hit in same day ratings, but I also don’t think that’s the entire point of the show. Rather, they’ll have more episodes for syndication and streaming.

2. What do you think of CBS’s decision to renew Young Sheldon through Season 7?

It’s a bold move, but one that shows CBS is still fully behind their comedy department. With Mom ending, they’ll need Young Sheldon to carry a night now more than ever. Combine that with its heavy rotation in syndication and the multi-season renewal makes a lot of sense.

3. What do you think of Wipeout’s start on TBS? (0.33 A18-49, 1.06 million viewers)

It’s too soon to tell how Wipeout will fare in the long run, but this is certainly a good start. Chances are the promotion during TBS’ March Madness coverage helped, as did the nostalgia factor.

4. After reading our review, do you think American Housewife’s season finale could serve as a series finale?

It seems like many ongoing plot lines either closed or saw significant developments. American Housewife could certainly continue should ABC decide to renew it, but I think those behind the show recognize its days may be limited.

5. What was your favorite April Fools’ article?

I think we ALL wrote good April Fools’ articles. Jokes aside, I’ll stay out of this one and let you decide.
