Zoey's Extraordinary Playlist: I always hate upgrading a show just after it hits or ties a series low. However, it's pretty much now or never for Zoey's, as there will likely be just one more update for the NBC Renew/Cancel this season. I can't recall a single time this season that I've had a new show predicted for a renewal. This week will change that. All season long, I've felt confident in Zoey's renewal odds, despite the low ratings. It's clearly an internal favorite that they want to make work in some way. It isn't fully owned, but NBCUniversal does have distribution rights, which should help it. I could see it transitioning to NBC streamer Peacock for season two, which I wouldn't count as a renewal by NBC, but at this moment I actually feel like it might be back on NBC, considering how much they've been pushing it on the network. I could be entirely off here, but my gut is telling me that this show will be renewed, and I have to listen. It now LEANS RENEWAL.
Good Girls: Despite the new low (0.3, ick!) it hit this week, I'm still very confident that Good Girls will, in fact, be returning to NBC next year. My justifications for the renewal were never based on its ratings, so an ugly new rating doesn't change anything. It's still a LIKELY RENEWAL.
What do you think of my predictions? What are your predictions? Let me know in the comments and don't forget to vote in the poll of the week!
