For Life: When it first debuted, For Life looked quite solid with a 0.74, nearly two full tenths ahead of Blackish. However, with the massive promotion behind it, I was worried the show could have harsh drops in the weeks to come. Since then, the show has delivered seven straight 0.6s, even airing behind repeats. Only on one occasion has it hailed to match or gain on its lead-in, that being the time it aired behind The Bachelor. Other than that, it's always prevailed despite very little lead-in support, and is easily the most impressive new ABC show this year. It seems pretty certain that ABC will renew one of their new shows this season (it's not like their freshman season was quite as disastrous as NBC's), and For Life is clearly the best choice. Its future beyond this season is uncertain, but for right now it's a LIKELY RENEWAL.
Stumptown: Since the last update, this show wrapped up its first season. I said just about everything there is to say about it in the last update. Its ratings are extremely low, and there's another drama on the schedule now that's a clearer renewal choice. If ABC needs to make room on their schedule, this is an obvious place to start. It's still a LIKELY CANCELLATION.
