Edison and Paige sit in a fancy restaurant.
PAIGE
I'm surprised you can afford this.
EDISON
Normally I couldn't, but I found Andrew's emergency cash. He’s really good with money.
PAIGE
You know, I was thinking... We've been dating for a few months now and I thought... Maybe we take our relationship to the next level?
EDISON
Sounds great, I think Andrew and Megan are out of the apartment right now. We can skip dinner and head back to my place.
PAIGE
Wow. I was thinking more of you and I spending more time with each other, meeting each other's families.
EDISON
Oh, my bad.
PAIGE
It's alright, I like where your head's at. Just not right this moment, maybe after dinner.
EDISON
Great! We just took it to the next level, this was easier than I tho-
Edison’s phone dings. He takes it out and looks at it. His eyes grow wide.
PAIGE
What is it?
EDISON
We have to break up.
PAIGE
What?
Edison gets up.
EDISON
We’re breaking up. This was fun while it lasted.
PAIGE
Are you not even going to give me a reason?
EDISON
You wouldn't understand.
Edison leaves. Paige sits flabbergasted in the restaurant.
THE NEXT DAY
EXT. APARTMENT - DAY
Andrew and Sarah walk to the apartment.
ANDREW
So I was thinking, what if I met your parents?
SARAH
I'd love that.
Andrew and Sarah walk near the mailbox where Paige is getting the mail. She is teary eyed.
SARAH
Paige, are you ok?
Paige begins to break down and cry. Sarah embraces her.
SARAH
Hey... Hey... What's wrong?
Paige doesn't answer and continues to cry. Sarah looks at Andrew.
ANDREW
I’ll talk to Edison.
INT. APARTMENT - DAY
Andrew enters the apartment. Edison is sitting on the couch staring at his phone. He has an excited look on his face.
ANDREW
Sarah and I just found Paige crying. What happened?
EDISON
We broke up.
ANDREW
What? What happened?
EDISON
She's coming back.
ANDREW
Who?
EDISON
Brittaney. She's coming back to the States.
ANDREW
How do you know?
EDISON
I got an alert on friend finder. She's over the Atlantic.
PAUSE
ANDREW
So let me get this straight, you broke up with Paige, a girl who is literally perfect for you just because you got an alert that your ex is returning?
EDISON
Yeah of course, it's Brittaney.
ANDREW
You’re a terrible person.
EDISON
Huh?
ANDREW
Edison, Paige is crying. She obviously really cared about you and you just... Dumped her.
EDISON
Yeah, for Brittaney.
ANDREW
Edison, all year I've tried helping you get over Brittaney. I'm done. You two are over! She broke up with you! Get over it! It was just a fling!
PAUSE
EDISON
What did you say?
ANDREW
Edison, you and Brittaney dated for less than a year. It was just a fling. Now if you'll excuse me, I'm gonna go help Sarah console Paige.
Andrew turns to leave. Behind him, Edison runs towards Andrew and tackles him to the ground.
