CBS CEO Les Moonves has recently gone on record to say that he plans to renew "around five" of this season's freshmen series. They have already premiered five: Supergirl, Life in Pieces, Limitless, Code Black, and Angel from Hell, but the latter has already been cancelled. They have yet to premiere Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders and Rush Hour.
With his words I've decided to move Limitless up to a likely renewal. It's not doing *that* bad; it is CBS's #11 show out of 20 that have aired this season. We'll have to keep a look-out on its ratings, but I think this one is here to stay.
Code Black has also been moved back up to a likely cancellation in case Les Moonves is telling the truth and that five is an absolute number. I personally don't see a spot on the schedule for it, but I do think that it's possible given the strong promotional push that CBS has given the show and the fact that it gained a little momentum towards the end of the season. I'm not sure if that momentum will be enough though; it will probably depend on how Rush Hour does. Meanwhile, I think that future fans of Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders shouldn't have to worry so much as long as the show isn't always fractional, solely because of the fact that it belongs to the Criminal Minds franchise and can be a strong player both overseas and in syndication.
So not much has changed from yesterday's Renew/Cancel, but given how many shows below it are likely renewals on CBS, I think it's fair for Limitless to be the same, at least for now.
