Tuesday night was a far stronger night for NBC than Monday night, thanks to an original America's Got Talent. However, potentially due to the increased competition in live viewing from the Convention and sports, the show lost about a tenth from last week, down to a 0.8, with a 0.7 in the second half. The Democratic Convention wasn't assisted much by this increased lead-in and held steady with Monday's 0.3 preliminary number.
ABC was at 0.3 all night, which included two Modern Family repeats, an original What Would You Do? (down a tenth from last week's 10 PM airing despite a better lead-in), and the Democratic National Convention (steady with Monday's preliminary number).
CBS had an unusually low NCIS repeat at 0.3, followed by an FBI repeat also at 0.3, and the Democratic National Convention steady at Monday's 0.2. Once again, CBS ranks last among the big three broadcast networks in terms of Convention coverage.
Fox had a 0.3/0.2 night with repeats of Hell's Kitchen and Prodigal Son.
The CW premiered new show Dead Pixels to little interest, drawing a 0.1. A Whose Line? repeat after it was also at 0.1, as was an "original" episode of Tell Me a Story, which hit a low in viewership.
Finals Update: Democratic National Convention coverage on CBS (+0.1) adjusted up. America's Got Talent (-0.1) adjusted down.
