NBC had another 0.4/0.5 prelim for their American Ninja Warrior repeat, leading into a 0.3 for their Republican Convention coverage, in-line with their Democratic Convention coverage from Monday (it later adjusted up to 0.4, and this can, as well) and eight tenths below their coverage for the first night of the event in 2016.
ABC's lineup was also essentially unchanged, ratings-wise. Repeats of Thursday game shows Holey Moley and To Tell the Truth matched last week's airings, and their convention coverage was steady at last week's 0.3 preliminary number (like NBC's coverage, it later adjusted up in the final ratings).
CBS brought back Love Island to expectedly little success. Its 0.4 start is below the ratings it got for its premiere week in 2019, but relatively in-line with most of its season one ratings. Their RNC coverage was at a 0.2, steady with last week and again placing them last among the big three.
Fox aired The King's Speech to little success with a 0.2.
The CW had an original Whose Line? at 0.2, followed by a Whose Line? also at 0.2 and an original Penn & Teller: Fool Us, also at 0.2.
Finals Update: The repeat of American Ninja Warrior (-0.1) adjusted down.
