ADAM, MADISON, LINCOLN, SAM, REAGAN, and CHASE are all sitting at their usual table in Lorenzo’s Kitchen. HARRY and LORENZO arrive.
LORENZO
I’m back everyone!
LINCOLN
Why do you leave this place unlocked?
LORENZO
I lost the key.
SAM
Classic.
LORENZO
Any new findings on my case?
MADISON
You mean, the minor lawsuit filed about an incident that happened here?
LORENZO
Yeah. Have you found any way to paint me as the hero?
MADISON
We’ve said this before, but you’re not one of the two parties.
REAGAN
Also, we have something else we’d like to tell you.
LORENZO
What?
Long pause.
REAGAN
Oh, so I have to tell it?
CHASE
That’s what I was thinking.
REAGAN
Fine. We watched the baseball game. You shouldn’t just be running onto the field!
ADAM
And your singing is terrible.
LORENZO
My singing isn’t terrible, it was just a faulty microphone with bad acoustics. You know I sound really good in the car when I play the song at full volume.
REAGAN
Maybe you should close down the restaurant to pursue your career as a backup singer with a microphone turned so low that no one can hear you.
LORENZO
I was just thinking that!
REAGAN
That was sarcasm. First off, you’re all over social media for that little incident of yours.
LORENZO
The singing or the ejection?
REAGAN
Both.
LORENZO
Maybe that’ll bring in customers. I always had the theory that as long as you keep people’s attention, you can do a lot of things. Like open a restaurant.
LINCOLN
Yeah okay, so Team Chase had an interesting finding.
ADAM
We decided it wasn’t going to be Team Chase.
CHASE
I’m not even on your team.
MADISON
I thought we were Team Broken Glasses.
CHASE
We were, but remember the big find?
ADAM
Oh yeah. Turns out, they didn’t actually break their glasses.
LORENZO
What happened then?
ADAM
Their glasses fell off and had minor cracks. It was their nose that broke.
LORENZO
Oh, perfect. Someone broke their nose in my restaurant.
HARRY
Poor you. I had to clean it up.
LORENZO
You had to clean up a nose?!?!
HARRY
No! Seriously?
ADAM
So anyways, our guy still has a sore throat. Madison called him last night and Chase did too.
CHASE
He yelled awfully load at me.
MADISON
So we’re thinking maybe that guy just has anger issues and he’s guilty, but we’re lawyers so we’re not supposed to think that.
LORENZO
Well, keep making progress guys. Isn’t this supposed to bring in more customers?
MADISON
Once more people learn about the case. We’re telling the media about it. Hopefully they believe it.
HARRY
Yeah, it does sound like a pretty ridiculous case.
LORENZO
We gotta get business going. I had to take a second job!
SAM
We know, you went back to the Indianapolis Primitives.
LORENZO
That’s right!
ADAM
Are you getting paid as much as you used to?
LORENZO
Nope, minimum wage this time. They said without a crowd I’m pretty useless. Can’t say I disagree.
LINCOLN
We’ll have this in the media as soon as we can.
LORENZO
Good. I don’t want to have to shut down!
CHASE
You won’t have to shut down, we can promise you that.
REAGAN
We can?
CHASE
Sure.
LORENZO
Alright, you guys have fun in here, I’m heading home. Don’t forget to lock up if you happen to find the key.
LORENZO leaves.
