Despite being on the streaming service for less than two years, Netflix has decided to cancel Hasan Minhaj's 'Patriot Act' after six seasons. Hosted by Minhaj, the informative political talk show dived deep into a wide variety of serious issues impacting countries around the world. The series premiered on October 28, 2018 and completed its final outing on June 28, 2020. The sixth and last season was filmed without a studio audience due to the Covid-19 pandemic. 'Patriot Act' was only on the air for a short time but had already been embroiled in controversy during its run. Minhaj was critical about Saudi Arabia and discussed the killing of journalist Jamal Khashoggi in the show's second episode, causing Netflix to pull the installment in Saudi Arabia. 40 episodes of the talk show were produced in total. Hasan Minhaj himself broke the news on Twitter.
