EXT. GREEN PARK GATED COMMUNITY - NIGHT
Adrian’s cars enter a gated community. Two men guard the gate. The cars drive through the neighborhood and stop in front of a mansion. They get out of the car and escort Daniel, Joel, and Bailey inside the house.
INT. MANSION - NIGHT
Adrian and his people escort Daniel, Joel, and Bailey to the living room.
ADRIAN
Here are three of them, Boss.
In the living room, is a chair facing away from them. Someone is sitting on it but only his hand, which is cradling a glass of wine, can be seen. He gets up. It is BOSS (White, 40s). He is tall and broad. He displays a menacing charisma. He turns and smiles at the three.
BOSS
So, you three are with the group that’s trespassing.
Daniel steps forward.
DANIEL
My name is Daniel. This is Joel and Bailey. We’re not trespassing.
BOSS
Nice to meet you, Daniel. Now, you are staying near Phoenix Ass, aren’t you?
DANIEL
Yeah. At my house.
BOSS
Then you’re trespassing.
JOEL
Look, if you think we’re a threat, we’re not.
BOSS
Oh, I don’t consider any of y’all a threat. From what my Scouters have told me, your group is... how do you say it? Pathetic? Silly?
BAILEY
How long have you been watching us?
BOSS
Since you arrived.
DANIEL
We don’t want any trouble. Just let us go and you’ll never see us again.
JOEL
Yeah, what he said.
BOSS
Look, I’m not gonna waste any more of our time with some monologue so instead, I’m just gonna lay it all out. You and your friends have two days to leave town or my friends and I will kill each and every one of you.
Silence.
Joel starts laughing. Daniel and Bailey look at him concernedly.
JOEL
Look, Boss, is that even your real name? Like, did your parents actually decide to name you that? Anyway, we aren't going anywhere. We’re staying right where we are cause we like our house.
Daniel and Bailey look at Joel impressed.
BAILEY
What he said.
Boss smiles at Joel.
BOSS
Adrian, take the lady and Daniel to the shed. I think it’s time to teach Joel a lesson about respecting one’s elders.
JOEL
The only kind of respect I care about is an amazing song by an amazing woman. I’m talking about Aretha Franklin.
BOSS
Well, I’m glad we can all agree on one thing.
Adrian and another man grab Daniel and Bailey. Bailey elbows the other man in the jaw. Adrian pulls out a baton and hits Bailey in the leg. She screams in pain. Daniel prepares to charge Adrian. Boss’ other men hold him down. Daniel and Bailey scream as they are are voilenty dragged away. Boss sets his glass down and slips on brass knuckles.
BOSS
Now, let’s get started.
Boss punches Joel.
INT. HOUSE - NIGHT
Tyler paces around the room. Greg and Hudson sit on the couch watching TV.
TYLER
Something must've happened. Maybe they got hurt.
GREG
Maybe Joel did something stupid.
HUDSON
I’m sure they’re fine. Maybe the car broke down.
GREG
They would've walked home.
TYLER
I’m going out for them.
HUDSON
I’ll go with you.
Tyler and Hudson exit the house. Car lights turn on. Adrian and some other men and women stand in front of their cars with their guns pointed at the house. Greg appears behind Tyler and Hudson.
ADRAIN
Hello fellas. How are y’all?
TYLER
Who the hell are you?
ADRIAN
The name’s Adrian.
TYLER
What do you want?
ADRIAN
I just came to deliver a message from Boss. I take it you’re the leader?
TYLER
At the moment... yes?
ADRIAN
Well, you and your posse have two days to leave. If you’re still here by that time, then you’ll all die. Your friends: Daniel, Joel, and Bailey. They’ll stay with us until then.
TYLER
If you hurt them-
ADRIAN
Relax. As long as y’all are out of here in two days they’ll be just fine.
Adrian and the others prepare to get into their cars and drive
GREG
Wait!
Greg steps forward.
GREG
What about Sugar Mama?
ADRIAN
What?
GREG
My girlfriend. Sugar Mama. Is she alright?
ADRIAN
Are you talking about the bottle of syrup your friends had?
Greg nods.
ADRIAN
I’m using it on my chicken and waffles tonight.
Adrian gives an evil smile. He and the others get into their cars and drive off.
Tyler, Hudson, and Greg go back into the house.
TYLER
Well, first we had psychotic sorority girls and now we have... actually, I don’t what they are. Hudson, where do Boss and his people live?
HUDSON
Green Park Golf Course. It’s a fancy gated community. I think it’s connected to Phoenix Ass.
TYLER
Ok. Ok, I think it’s safe to assume that it’s heavily guarded. And that they got a buttload of weapons.
HUDSON
So, what do we do?
TYLER
I-I don’t know.
HUDSON
Look, you do not want a fight. Boss will win. It’s best to just do what they say.
TYLER
We can’t leave. This place is great. We have access to food and supplies. We aren’t doing anything wrong.
HUDSON
I’m just saying, if y’all make a stand, it won’t end well.
TYLER
They have Daniel, Joel, and Bailey. For all we know, they’ll just kill them when we leave. How do we know they will keep their word?
HUDSON
They won’t kill them. As long as we don’t give them a reason to.
TYLER
Look, Daniel, Joel, and Bailey are our priority. We have two days to make a decision. Let’s just get a good night's sleep and we’ll make a decision tomorrow morning. Ok?
Tyler and Hudson nod. Greg who has been quiet the entire time stares blankly into space.
TYLER
Greg?
GREG
Yeah. Sounds good.
Tyler, Hudson, and Greg go to their beds.
EXT. GREEN PARK GATED COMMUNITY - NIGHT
Two men drag Joel out of the mansion and through the neighborhood of the gated community. They take him to the backyard of a house where there is a shed. One of the men opens the shed. Inside, Daniel and Bailey sit against the wall. Bailey’s leg is in a crudely made cast. The men throw Joel into the shed. Joel’ face is bloody and bruised. The men close the gate. Daniel and Bailey crawl over to Joel.
INT. SHED - NIGHT
DANIEL
Are you ok?
Joel spits blood.
JOEL
Yep.
Bailey rests her hand on Joel’s chest.
BAILEY
What’re we gonna do?
INT. HOUSE - NIGHT
Greg sits in his bed staring at a photo of him and Sugar Mom. He becomes silently angry and gets up.
Greg enters the garage and looks at the landscaping tools such as a pickax, a weed whacker, and a regular ax. Greg turns and sees hanging on the wall, a chainsaw. He smiles and picks it up. He examines it and then starts it. The chainsaw whirs to life. Greg’s smile grows bigger.
GREG
Groovy.
