Dead to Me Renewed for Final Season; The Kominsky Method Also Ending

Acclaimed comedy-drama Dead To Me will be back for a third and final season on Netflix. The series centers on two women who meet at a grief therapy who forge a friendship, though one of those women has a secret that could tear them apart. Christina Applegate and Linda Cardellini star in the series, alongside James Marsden, Max Jenkins, Sam McCarthy and Luke Roessler. Applegate was nominated for an Emmy for her role on the series, among other accolades. It first premiered on Netflix in May 2019, before season two was released on May 8 of this year. The series was reportedly very popular, with over 30 million households viewing season one within a month of its release. When it wraps its three-season run, it will have thirty episodes to its name. In addition to this renewal, the series' creator, Liz Feldman, signed an overall deal with Netflix.

This move comes days after Netflix also renewed The Kominsky Method for a third and final season. Like Dead To Me, The Kominsky Method was an acclaimed series for the network that gathered them Emmy nominations for stars Michael Douglas and Alan Arkin, as well as Golden Globe victories for the show itself and Douglas. Created by sitcom supercreator Chuck Lorre, the show debuted in November 2018, with season two coming a bit less than a year later, on October 25, 2019. The show was in limbo since then, but has now been renewed for a final season that will bring its episode count to twenty-four by the time it wraps. Sarah Baker and Nancy Travis also star in the series, which features Susan Sullivan, Emily Osment, Lisa Edelstein, Jane Seymour and Paul Reiser in recurring roles.
