Friday TV Ratings 7/3/20: Carl Reiner Tribute Modest, Dateline Leads Quiet 4th of July Eve (UPDATED)

Preliminary Analysis: A silent July 3rd was led by an NBC repeat of 'Dateline' (0.5), the latter topped the night and was actually a notch higher than last week's broadcast (0.4). 'Dateline' led out of a repeat of 'The Wall' (0.3) that managed to outperform a May 24th original. ABC's 'Shark Tank' (0.4) and '20/20' (0.3) encores were down a bit from the matching 0.5s they posted a week ago but were still decent enough by summer standards. CBS's colorized 'Dick Van Dyke Show' presentation (0.3) garnered little traction, the special was intended to act as a tribute to late comedian Carl Reiner. It led into repeats of 'Magnum PI' (0.3) and 'Blue Bloods' (0.3). Fox's 'WWE Smackdown' (0.4) lost a tenth from last week. The CW hosted an 'iHeartCountry 4th of July BBQ' (0.1) but forgot to send out the invitations. A repeat of 'Iconic: TLC' (0.1) capped the night for the netlet.

Finals Update: Dateline NBC (-0.1) adjusted down.
